Hey Chris love your content!😁 I think you have a golden opportunity launch another business as a motivational speaker/ Business Coach/Course creator. You have a clear direct way of speaking that cuts through all the bull****. Your'e fearless in the face of adversity & yet humble enough take ownership of your mistakes. Top job!❤
Was feeling so fed up with my working at my business recently feeling like I wasn’t getting anywhere but this has inspired me and given me more motivation to keep going. Great video, perfect amount of serious advice and humour!
Great content. Brickie myself went to work in Germany in the early 90's on a rebound earning £1k a week, living in a 5* hotel, spending like I was a millionaire when I came across a labourer who was earning £750 per week, lived in a wooden hut, living on pot noodles, only drank 1 pint of beer on a saturday night. He saved as much money as he could. Came home after a 12 month he purchased an house out right refurbed sold, done that numerous times, he then went onto develop multiple sites he's now a multi millionaire. Me! I've only just finished refurbing my first £800k property. Wish I had his discipline 30 years ago😢.
I have a DPhil and was earning sh*t in pharmacy, but cleaned houses on the side and was able to build a cleaning business here in central London and bought and sold houses and flats and make decent dosh. The reality I made more money cleaning and repairing houses than in a professional job, those dragging themselves through this think twice. Some jobs that others don't want to do pay well and inform the tax man.
i have a tree nursery and harvest all of my own seed. i get such a kick when folks are out walking and stop to engage and ask questions about what i'm doing and the world of trees. makes my day. makes their day.
New subscribers here, myself and my husband stumbled across your London ren and had to sub. We are a lot older than you, but you are very motivational and inspirational (even for us oldies too!). We hope in the next 3-4 years to get a house to renovate and make it "our living", more of our passion. Your parents must be so very proud of you!
You are amazing, smart and so full of energy. I must say at 60 years of age and restoring an old house , have had many ney-sayers until I am achieving my goals. Visualizing the end result sets you in motion, Amazing! I love my biceps! Never built a structure in my life, now building my yoga studio, potting shed from found items. You just have to have the tools and stay organised and plan and resource. You tube has been amazing. Oh another thing, I am a Registered Nurse, worked and saved with my Husband and son for years and retired. Now being ghosted by the friends who are jealous.... What? Now looking at 'side hustles'. Move on and create and enjoy, Love the dream cars myself :)
Giving up those ‘little things’ here and there for me were game changing tbh. As soon as I genuinely realised my biggest next goal is to get a property that’s my own, I cut all the takeaways, unnecessary tech and clothing purchases and I’m almost half way to my deposit after not even a full year
Really interesting to hear what you have been doing and how you think about it, much better articulated than I could. I'm certainly a bit older, but had the same conversations with many people in the day job (I'm still in finance, but enjoy my little niche). The one big criticism I always got was that I bought a wreck in Woolwich, and did almost everything myself, when most people I worked with lived in west London etc. renting. Now onto the second place, slowly but doing most of it myself and the confusion still remains, how do I know how to do it, why don't I just get someone in etc. Coming from a farm, it is just that have a go and keep trying until it's right attitude, and a switch off from the day job. Look forward to seeing the end result!
Well thats amazing then mate. You should feel very proud as its not easy to start and get past that resistance. Farm to finance to renovating is awesome! Keep going📈 Thanks for watching
Ooo I’m loving your vids. I’ve lived through similar stuff. I’ve achieved my own definition of success and became financially independent at 50yo. I was a single parent with a full time job that also developed property. So I designed my own path and was also on the receiving end of resistance. Yeah it’s important to understand compound interest. If you fancy a sail on the med let me know.
Fair play to you Bruv you’ve got your head screwed on! A great open minded outlook on life! Takes people a life time to figure out how this society works! A sub from me! Keep it up man
Great insights and excellent advice 👌 I wish you all the best in life. Your lucky keep working hard and your going to get even more luck. The harder you work the luckier your going to get. Brain power and hard work make you lucky. I wish more young people had your commitment to hard work. Really impressed by your work effort 👌
"Self employed in your spare time" just make sure there is absolutely NO conflict of interest. Alot of very wise life experience in your videos. And yes ppl can generate alot of conflict when you are living your dream life, & they are not.
I like these version of your video, Same would probably say this guy Chris is stuck up, Thinks he's better then everyone else, Your actually teaching facts, Keep up the same energy
Thanks for this Chris. About to get a mortage on a Victorian end terrace with some gem potential; simple steps could improve it immensely. Two architects (well, one of them an ex-architect now landscaper) and a newborn. Not a load of savings but a 40% deposit on a £200k house. The current market seems scary but we're going to go for it. Seems mad with a little on to care for! If all goes according to plan, we'll be able to refinance it. Are there any mortage conditions we should be aware of?
'don't buy things you don't need with money you don't have to impress people you don't like' comes to mind SO MANY PEOPLE do this and wonder why they aren't getting anywhere
8:25 My own mother is like that and raised me like that. She would get me to save up my pocket money for a toy I wanted and put it in the bank to earn interest. Sounds like good advise, except when I'd have enough money she wouldn't let me take the money out. I never saved for anything after that so have loads of debt. I'm now 45. Yes I own my own house but it's an old sh!t hole. I work for myself when mental health isn't kicking my arse. I've never been able to work out how you can save to improve your situation when you don't have any money left after outgoings to save. It's hard to work out which failings are my own and which one's aren't.
Hey Chris - in spring as always - when you did the ldn project and used permitted development for the pod/rear former and applied for planning perms on the main loft. Which order did you applications? (Assuming you applied for cert of lawfulness)… when you applied for planning did you include the proposed rear dormer on the planing drawings?
Thanks for watching!! Permitted development for pod. Planning for main Get planning first For the main loft Once u get permission on that Use permitted for the pod They wont allow it if done the other wayyyy
Love the videos, resonates a lot as I left London to focus on business so a lot of parallels. You do have to be careful of what's in your employment contract when starting a side business. I work in tech and have seen successful lawsuits against employees that start a side business when their contract gives employer all intellectual property.
I couldn’t give a fuck about driving a Lamborghini personally. If you value material things then good for you, but some of us enjoy experience over bling assets like a fleet of flash cars. Who’s to say a year of enjoying going out isn’t right for that individual? But fair play you’ve done well.
this series started cool but now it's "how to become successful and why i am the only wolf in the sea of sheep" motivational garbage please read/listen to "Life: What Nat to Do" by Nat's what i reckon.
Lol. 24k for mistletoes ?!?!?!.... That is so crazy.... Actually.. a lot of people in finance aren't well paid. So... Maybe one day, you may watch and think back.. whether they helped you or not by giving you extra boost of that lump sum ?....
It was a triple mortgage with my brother his girlfriend and me. 1/3 of a deposit each and split the monthly paymenets/3 aswell. Deed of trust meant that its all legal and if say I wanted to sell. My brother and his girlfriend would have to pay me my 1/3. The most I have heard of is 5 friends on one mortgage
@@havesomevisionYou know the saddest thing, I'm actually working on equipment normally (my job) but because I'm not online, my manager suspects I'm not working. Modern working conditions are unhealthy. Btw you kept me going on my own renovation, thank you.
Chirs own a house been sitting there for 15 years council keep waking up the charge for council tax saying its empty,h it sole my inheritance that could have helped me finish , so how can i get some advice single female , always had envy horrible people round me stealing off me or trying to take shit from me or slowing down my progress. dream to live by the sea.. so just gotta finish this house. wanna make it a HMO can i still do this. ? love yah oh and im in debt everyone wants me to sell but thats the only asset i bought and nobody else thought to do it... now they are all hoping i pass it on when im dead , never. lol... but seriously anyone chip in but its more for chris oh its a 4 bed ripped out everything and its rewired first fix have all the bits bathroom kichen its getting the fitters and builders. as im broke.
Whoa! A little too much ranting for me. I came to watch the tiny house progress. I'm not a bully in finance, so this whole clip wasn't what I was looking for. I've got some real estate because I worked and saved. No, I didn't build them; just bought them. Paid off both mortgages. Houses were more affordable then, but few single people thought to do what I did.
Watching this video was painful... You constantly trying to align the timber by bashing it with your hands, foot or pieces of wood 😬!!! With all the knowledge you have my friend buy yourself a hammer or mallet 😂😂
Came for the side hustles.....where were they?!

Found you today mate. Awsome content. Thrown myself into loads of things! You never know what you're capable of until you try ;)

Such a great mentality, appreciate these videos. I actually learnt so much from your London build, you did a great job on it
Gladd u found it helpful. Thanks for watching!!
The comparison with downshifting the Lambo is awesome 😂
Guy in the sprinter van raided the hedge fund.
Another banger mate. Love your outlook and attitude.
Btw my gf thought I was watching a young Jeremy Renner! 😆
omg i worked with Hugo! This must be the same guy!!!!
Top man, top comments!
