We used to use the old round oil cans and wear them over our shoes!! Just mash them down in the middle and the sides would bend up over your shoe and there you went!! The beer cans brought back that memory. We never had beer cans to use!! All that canned food looks so pretty (and yummy)!! We always had a big garden and helped Mom can. We grew up on pinto beans, greens, cornbread, fried potatoes, and fresh onions. Love it all still today!! Mom picked wild greens and it was all good. In the fall killed the hog for winter meat. We were in eastern KY, so our lives were probably very similar! You all bring back the sweet memories!!

@@GrannyWomen it took us awhile to think about it. But we average the meat prices and how those animals are treated and decided it’s better for our food or health and the animal’s. They deserve treated with respect as they are feeding us. Can’t beat that. ❤️❤️
Growing up we had chickens but we don’t now. Memaw Dixie still raises hogs and preps squirrel and deer. It’s been a wild year but we’ve had some good times too.
