I'm using the porta 12ft now since 1997 for carp angling through Europe. Great boat. Great fun on the water. Together with an minn kota electrical engine or the mercury 3.5 hp. Great video. Only have to get myself the Porta Dolly's. Anton
When I got mine it didn't come with a stretcher board but it seemed so obvious that I made my own. Took it out on the Potomac River very often. Lovely little water craft that, when dry, fit atop my book shelves.
I love your videos. Im on disability now thanks to complications with diabetes. I am really trying my hardest to get one of these to take my kids out on the lake here in Michigan. We go fishing a ton, had a fixer upper that wasn\t able to fix up so had to get rid of it they were bummed. Im working on rectifying that with a Porta-Bote. Thanks for the great vids.
Love my Porta Bote so far! I take it ocean fishing and it's handled some pretty rough conditions no problem. I'll upload some videos on my channel if y'all are interested :)
We enjoy our Porta-Bote, but the ease of assembly shown in this video is an exaggeration. The pins that go into the seats are very difficult to insert. I have to bring a rubber mallet to get them inserted. Also, the bow cap has been the same for years and is cumbersome to install and does a less than adequate job of keeping water out of the boat. While there are holes in the front of the boat, when folded flat it is difficult to impossible to put a lock through or use them to tie down the front (or back) when folded flat on a rack for safety while driving. The new Alpha transom system is excellent. Despite the issues mentioned, our Porta-Bote allows us to get out on the water in a boat that does not need a trailer.
where do you find these boats is there a site for them or what like the idea of the flat bottom in them I have seizures and had to get rid of my 12 foot alum. v bottom boat because it was not very stable if i had a seizure in it and most flat bottom boats don't have very tall sides like this does and health getting worse getting a larger boat is not really an option to handle any more but still want to fish about every day and have not been able to for the last 3 to 4 years from a boat and hate to fish off the bank.

Not a happy experience. I purchased a 2014 2nd gen 20HP motor (on clearance) from Suzuki Outboard/Porta Bote. It was advertised as "never used and with warranty" (I have emails and screenshots). Motor was delivered fast, about a week but it was a 2013 1st gen model and the warranty was already registered 6 years ago and expired in 2017 (as confirmed by a local Suzuki dealer) So the motor was sold previously to another customer, and was possibly used and refurbished. Cindy, the sales manager is a bully that is verbally attacking if I start asking questions about it. I don't let my children speak to me in this tone of voice as she did to me. It was a disgrace. Sandy Kaye, the president is a nice person but offered zero solution to the problem. I will be contacting Suzuki Headquarters and I would not be returning to this dealer again.

WOw! great real time show...Thoughts here are to power with Lightweight Lithium Batter or 2 and TM THX great Job
When the boat is new, it's stiff like a new pair of shoes. After opening and closing several times it will be much easier. Enjoy!
What size is the boats? Great video.
How much money the boat costs?
I think they made an improvement on the pins for seats. I remember there being two pins per end.
Did you spend some extra time on the seat / bench legs - getting them to fit properly?

WHAT PORTABOTE WOULD REQUIRE 20 HP???
@@DLJ2890 The same company is selling Suzuki Motors, that's all.
@@SlavaMurzin yes, but a 2.5 horsepower - not 20
What was 4 minutes about this?
From truck to on the water.
