In this emotion packed clip from GLORIOUS BETSY (1928), Passion explodes between Jerome (Conrad Nagel) and Elizabeth (Dolores Costello), on the grounds of the Patterson Estate. The two are literally swept away in their apparently impossible love for each other. Wonder what DC's Hubby John Barrymore thought about this steamy stuff unfolding before the camera's with his new wife?

Wonderful to see this. She was a wonderful actress, beautiful and charming. A shame so many family treasures were lost in that flood in the 1970s. Love her and sister Helene.

Since the ending is so inaccurate, you'd think perhaps Betsy is imagining that Jerome returns to her. But he's shown prior advising bro he's returning! (Yet we all know Jerome chose to be an appointed-king-with-assigned-wife over Betsy & baby.) Still, it would've been sweet if he had gone back to her... oh well.
