Im loving this video series so much, i grew up playing many rts games since childhood. You mencioned KKND but used footage from the sequel, kknd 2: Krossfire, but is ok.I have 2 more rts games you can use for the next video, one is called Rising Lands (Released in 1996-1997 cant remember exactly), and other one is named Echelon (This one came a bit later, in 1998 i think) Anyways, looking forward for the next video already :D Edit: Also forgot to mention another rts called Dark Colony, spent many hours in this one.
There is a game I played in early 90s called Blood Magic, it is such a cool strategy game. Thank you for the video, you brought up so many good memories
The clip you showed of KKND is actually of part 2 with 3 factions Survivors (Humans) The Evolved (Mutants) Series 9 (mad revenge driven agriculture Robots)
The seven kingdoms sequel is very good. To add more to your list: Warlords Battlecry 3, The Settlers 3/4, Rising Kingdoms, Magic & Mayhem, Constructor, Metal Fatigue, Total Annihilation: Kingdoms

I think the most interesting RTS game I ever played was Achron - an RTS with actual ‘time-travel’ so you could send units back or forward in time, reposition units if needed to make a bad fight better, or to counteract how your opponent was meddling with the past/future. It was extremely polarizing though, because how the game worked either clicked in people’s heads and they loved it, or they found it confusing and difficult and refused to play it again.
KKND 2 was and still is a fantastic rts game. Many years ago i was making a game like KKND, but in a real world universe and so on. Sadly a hdd crash ended everything unexpected.
I got a few more a bit forgotten: Warlords Battlecry series (with WB 2 as my personal favourite), Impossible Creatures, S.W.I.N.E., Theocracy, Extermination. I cannot count hours spend in those games as kid. So much good memories. First 3 still available on GOG.

"Nuke Them All" is an exciting indie RTS game set to launch in 2024, and we've already released the Demo, which is why we're reaching out to Steamers. It's a unique game in the style of classic golden-era RTS titles like Z, KKND, and C&C Red Alert. love seeing this list, although when it got to KKND and talking about it having two factions, i couldn't help but notice the footage was showing KKND2 with every fight depicting the new third faction, Series9
WW3: Black gold was such a great RTS back in the time. Loved its campaign and gameplay mechanics. Was really surprised about how badly it was received on the West.
A few good RTS games that came from little Bulgaria where the genre was very respected - WorldShift, Rising Kingdoms, Nemesis of the Roman Empire, Celtic Kings, Tzar: The Burden of the Crown and Knights of Honor.
I don't know if these were already mentioned in the other video, but here's a bunch of more names i remember from my youth: • Total Annihilation: Kingdoms • Dark Colony • Echelon • Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds

Dark Reign 1 and 2 as well as KKND 1 and 2 are very fun RTS with really unique units and solid gameplay.

Don't know if you covered it in one of the previous videos but big (!) shoutout to Haegemonia, a Space-RTS with at this time incredible graphics and also a lot of depth plus a pretty damn hard AI/Campaign.
KKND krossfire was amazing. you could limit the tech level and that was handy because the aircraft was overpowered. we did come up with a nasty way of using flying troop transports and anti aircraft turrets to destroy enemy buildings though
Act of War has one little design quork that I perosonaly adore for some reason. Game has 3 armies - USA ( self explanatory ), task force talon ( USA^2) and Consortium ( the bad guys). 'Muricans have 3 tech tiers, consortium has 2. It was very common for RTSs of that time to portray USA as super high tech spec force, with it's enemies standing a fighting chace only by overwhelming numbers, brute firepower and/or underhanded (terrorist) tactics. And consortium on thier tier 1 look exactly like this. However on their tier 2 they reveal all thier cool toys and things go 180 - Now they have the technological edge over eveyone. Game may be overall quite meh ( it's esencialy slightly worse C&C Generals ), but devs made concoius choice to make non-usa the technodominat fraction in the game, in 2005 of all times, right in the middle of USA world police craze, and I love them for doing so XD
I got Act of war DA and its addon so cheap on steam....found out no achievements. fun game though; was a pain in the a$$ before to play on modern systems.
KKnD is displayed wrong. The game shown is actually KKnD 2: Krossfire, the second KKnD-game. The first was just "KKnD" and was more oldschool. Krossfire had some mad stuff because you could build maps AND change ALL stats of ALL units for custom games.
Sacrifice definitively deserve it's own video. It's a big cult classic for a reason. Nice to see Act of War too, it's schlocky in it's plot and presentation but it's superingly high value for what was th equivalent of a AA game at the time. Like really has a feeling of "I want to be Command and conquer genrals bbit with some actual addiotnnal mecanics". The few mecanics like infantry ambush, garison fighting and prisoner capture made it decently fresh. Go a DL too that added mercenaries and naval combat. Shame the spiritual successor Act of Agression was a complete flop. No man's land defintively deserve a shout out fo being one of the very few Western themed RTS. Fels there would be more that could be done with that. Netstom is very unique and also a cult classic for a reason. Both it's mecanics and aethetics stands out.

@@lqdlqd1385 In the description there's the full list. I don't know this title, but i can inform you that the pinnacle of the RPG/RTS genre is Spellforce (Phenomic, 2003) that's for sure totally outclass such like warcraft3 titles form the same period.
Sacrifice was amazing and memorable. Though my only gripe was the strongest unit of one faction (think it was a flying winged demon) was bugged and did zero damage unfortunately. It was one of the reasons why I could never beat that campaign.
You are probably referring to the Hellmouth. That thing does poison damage and sadly it's a projectile with a small range. Beside healing itself like all charnal creature the poison is actually powerful and can outdamage a healing mage if stacked. If you attack a manalith with it it deals a good chunk of damage instantly. It's good to make one and harass manalith with it but in the campaign they are guarded and a dragon do the job better. They can also consume blue souls but that's a huge risk, if you resurrect them with a spell they keep the souls tho, so that's pretty neat. Probably the worst lvl 9 creature but i like his quotes. To make them stronger i'd say that the poison should be able to spread like the Plague spell, that'll also heal them more and allow them to live long enough to stack poison with deadeyes. Abomination and styx under guardians will take care of marduk's army and you can slowly destroy his defenders with Intestinal Vaporization and run towards the neutral blue souls.
I'm surprised nobody mentions Praetorians - RTS on bit more tactical side, where you side with either Roman Empire or as some barbarian tribes (can't remember which, but could be germanics and celts or something like that). Also Blitzkrieg - tactical RTS similar to Sudden Strike.
I am surprised "Sacrifice, Krush Kill N Destroy, Act of War and Dark Reign" is considered forgotten, I get sacrifice, it's a unqiue rts that most people don't think is considered an rts, though KKND and Dark Reign is more or less a command and conquer clone in it's own lil post appocalyptic world while Act of War is more or less a command and conquer generals clone which I really love.
i think most people dont talk about the earth series earth 2140, 2150 and its expansions and 2160, Populous the beginning, Warzone2100, Armies of exigo and Peremeter (might have butchered the spellings) but i used to play these as well :)
I remember Supreme Commander on the first list but not sure if Total Annihilation was … I think there are many others I liked but they are so hard to get them to run on modern computers that it’s just too hard now. My main case in point would be Rise of Legends but also Empire Earth.
Where are the Earth 2150 series ? The Moon Project was the first game I have ever bought, unique up to this day. I have never seen any other RTS, where You can create, modify and weaponize combat units like in TMP.
War front: Turning point was quite good - but i really remember it as a good looking thing, while this footage looks... well terrible. Maybe im spoiled and 16:9 also broke it obviously, but it was really good design of animated building back then, mostly steel smelters and so, with some advanced effects.
Does anyone remember the title of the RTS game where you can play as a faction with zombies/vampires, and the high tier unit was called Nosferatu? The other faction has humans. But my memory is vague. I'm not sure if it was a stand-alone game or a mod of some other game. I believe it was around 2001-2009.
I've been wanting a new War Wind for yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars now !! Okay, War Wind 2 s*cked badly but gosh, 1 was such a classic !!! Same with Dark Reign, such a classic, I didn't like 2 as much but it had amazing ideas. On a side note, Conquest Frontier Wars is still very much alive same as Act of Aggression and Ashes of the Singularity (is that even a lost game? it's still pretty new)

Or they just copied The Dark Crystal. Nevertheless it is more interesting that just Orcs Elves and Humans
It was definitely an interesting game to play. I could never get past the third mission with the Tha' Roon though.

@@art-hx6hq Hello, can i ask what the title of the thumbnail/image for the previous video? cause i don't recognize from the list, and i play almost all of them th-cam.com/video/sHUn4agE_Zo/w-d-xo.html And thanks for you informative video.
Could you please tell us what is the very first game shown in this video (the game with the German captions)?
Where is Perimeter ? Greatest and original old RTS!!!
@@lqdlqd1385 In the description there's the full list. I don't know this title, but i can inform you that the pinnacle of the RPG/RTS genre is Spellforce (Phenomic, 2003) that's for sure totally outclass such like warcraft3 titles form the same period.
BC kings also forgotten rts. Humans vs dinosour, cool concept
Military Madness on the TurboGrafx-16 (Bit obscure but wanted to share)
Warbreeds definitely should have got a mention here
I love these games, if only I knew them when they came out I would have played less Warcraft 3. A little variety in my RTS games was needed.
Those were the times my friend.
Seven kingdoms II the same as I but much better 21 civilisations and 7 "monster" factions.
DARK REIGN was/is SO GOOD
i think most people dont talk about the earth series earth 2140, 2150 and its expansions and 2160, Populous the beginning, Warzone2100, Armies of exigo and Peremeter (might have butchered the spellings) but i used to play these as well :)
Genewars and Netstorm must be remastered!
I remember Supreme Commander on the first list but not sure if Total Annihilation was … I think there are many others I liked but they are so hard to get them to run on modern computers that it’s just too hard now. My main case in point would be Rise of Legends but also Empire Earth.
I miss outlive so much
Take a look at the DOS Game Dominus next - that is a really odd gem! :)
13:35 codex was here (?)
@Image_Game there is another one - Joint Task Force (2006). One of my favorites.
Kingdom Under Fire: A War of Heroes
Another game underrated is Army of Exigo, great RTS.
Already mentioned in previous videos.
Conquest the best of all those games!!! Anyone wanna play???
Does anyone remember the title of the RTS game where you can play as a faction with zombies/vampires, and the high tier unit was called Nosferatu? The other faction has humans. But my memory is vague. I'm not sure if it was a stand-alone game or a mod of some other game. I believe it was around 2001-2009.
no Total Annihilation . My favorite game from childhood
