This video was such a fascinating exploration of Taiwanese folk religion! It's amazing to see how Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism all coexist and influence each other in Taiwan. I really enjoyed learning about the origins and beliefs of each of these three religions. The visuals and explanations were clear and easy to understand. Looking forward to the next episodes in this series!

Just don't follow the lead of Abraham/Ibrahim: *Genesis 22:1-18* "God said to Abraham, 'Take your son, your only son, whom you love, Isaac, and *sacrifice* him on the mountain…' Abraham bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar. Then he took the knife to slay his son. But the angel of the Lord called out to him, 'Do not do anything to him.
Now I know that you fear God. . . Because you have NOT withheld your only son, Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, because you have _obeyed_ me.'”

Mainland China is mainly American Dream and Confucianism (study hard, work hard, make money; Father [Emperor] >>> Children [Subjects]), which is why they persecute Buddhists, Falun Gong. The younger generation though is "lying flat".

As a cocktail, you don't know and understand Chinese Taiwanese culture fully.
Chinese religion started of with Folk Religion, then Daoism, Confucianism and lastly Buddhism. Most people of Chinese roots are still deep in their Folk Religion, like worshipping of ancestors, celebration of certain festivals, especially the Spring Festival, and dieties.

There are Buddhists in Taiwan who are PURELY Buddhist. Your attempt at labeling an entire group of people based on your race perception is flawed, as it can only work if you eradicate the exceptions. Perhaps you need to visit a monastery or two, and interview a few monks or nuns.

The daodejing doesn’t mention a single deity.

The worshipping of deities in Daoism came much later. The irony is that, when Buddhism first arrived in China, they copied some of Daoism's practices to become popular, but later on, when the Daoists saw Buddhism became successful with worshipping of statues and deities they followed also.

It’s really unbelievable how many inaccuracies this video has.
The hubris of talking about texts you refuse to read.
    Just like a proper Christian.😂
