Because the things that are in the text may not be suited for that time period. Example has been given in this discussion that there is the mention of Greeks and huns. Indians would have known about Greeks only after 500 BCE, same thing with Huns, they would have only have known about Huns after 500 CE.
Isn't there a possibility that we might be knowing about Greeks and Huns at the time when the original text was written? Similarly, the mentioned about a paragraph from Mahabharat where Bhishma is explaining to Yudhishthir, they mention that it describes reality of Mauryan Empire so it must have been added at that time... What if this dialogue in Mahabharat is present from the beginning and if at all it describes reality of Mauryan Empire, the Mauryans must have taken inspiration from this text and set up their kingdom inspired by this dialogue. History writing culture came with islamic rulers in the west around 11th century and in the east with Ahoms (Assam) in 12th century. Those r preserved very well by their subsequent dynasties. Except mouriyan period no other dynasties were interested in written history. Because literature was virtually hijacked by 3% of the population and 90% of population forcefully kept away from education using royal intervention. So there was no serious effort to practice concrete literature let alone history. All the ancient written evidence of history were from Jain, Buddhist and muslim kings. Because the 3% couldn't make them subservient of their supremacist philosophy. But they did it successfully to the Hindu kings using religious clout. Few coins and copper plates issued by those kings ( eg Gupta kings) r used as historical evidences by ultra nationalist historians. Information gathered from those r obscure and very much insufficient. But our whole history of Hindu dynasties r standing on it. Pity.
I can see that vinamra (the host ) is not very much connected to our roots. He has a lots and lots of western influence. He doesn't even know about malechha and naga. This is what happens when you send your kids to schools like DPS. They snatch away the bharatiyata and hindutva out of your kid and make him a western show piece that you can show off to your relatives.

Because the things that are in the text may not be suited for that time period. Example has been given in this discussion that there is the mention of Greeks and huns. Indians would have known about Greeks only after 500 BCE, same thing with Huns, they would have only have known about Huns after 500 CE.
Isn't there a possibility that we might be knowing about Greeks and Huns at the time when the original text was written?
Similarly, the mentioned about a paragraph from Mahabharat where Bhishma is explaining to Yudhishthir, they mention that it describes reality of Mauryan Empire so it must have been added at that time... What if this dialogue in Mahabharat is present from the beginning and if at all it describes reality of Mauryan Empire, the Mauryans must have taken inspiration from this text and set up their kingdom inspired by this dialogue.

Plus i dont think Indian ancient history can be carbon dated to the exact age .....especially the satya yug , treta and dwapar because the indian knowledge system followed oral tradition.... transference was oral in nature by way of recitation, so even if our historical texts are carbon dated.... it would only give us a recent date because only later on it was brought to print.... so if you apply western standards to our history it wont fit , because its not one size fits all

History writing culture came with islamic rulers in the west around 11th century and in the east with Ahoms (Assam) in 12th century. Those r preserved very well by their subsequent dynasties.
Except mouriyan period no other dynasties were interested in written history. Because literature was virtually hijacked by 3% of the population and 90% of population forcefully kept away from education using royal intervention. So there was no serious effort to practice concrete literature let alone history. All the ancient written evidence of history were from Jain, Buddhist and muslim kings. Because the 3% couldn't make them subservient of their supremacist philosophy. But they did it successfully to the Hindu kings using religious clout. Few coins and copper plates issued by those kings ( eg Gupta kings) r used as historical evidences by ultra nationalist historians. Information gathered from those r obscure and very much insufficient. But our whole history of Hindu dynasties r standing on it. Pity.
