Pete (Survivalist) does a lot of coaching and he is really good at it, nevertheless he tends to be a bit too nitpicky with small details and small mistakes that don't matter so much -- if I didn't know any better I would say you were watching his rec reviews to learn how to coach better :D
You guys have a very similar teaching style, but I feel as if your coaching has the slight edge not because of your ELO or rank, but because you clearly have a great deal of patience for each student and their recorded matches as well as oodles of enthusiasm for offering tips and encouragement which more often than not are very effective at showing real improvement. I notice you also be doin' this even when you're just playing 1v1 matches by verbalizing what you're doing in game and explaining why. Perfect!
More than once I saw you calling out Yeti (red) for *common* mistakes and reminding your audience "hey this is a common mistake i often see. here is how you can correct it:"
Keep up the excellent work Hamza... and hey, if you ever decide to do some moonlighting or look for an alternative career path you should very much consider teaching high school literature, history or science/math.

hera has such a likeable and charismatic personality, plus Aoe2 is still a banger so whatever content you produce for us, I am here for it. But some variety is always appreciated. Everything gets stale if you only produce the same kind of video over and over. Mix up coaching, ladder games, 1vX, 1v1 lower rank with handicap, whatever you feel like. I am here for it.
please take note, Hera and team, I think the most helpful rec reviews for Hera's audience (and for the community in particular) fall within the 950-1350 ELO range. I would love to see some 950 rec reviews.
One tactic I’ve learned from hera that has really helped my game is being specific about what part of your base to defend and wall. I would often get in the habit of trying to wall a lot of territory, rather than focusing on protecting a key Woodline or gold area.
Love this content, i can relate to this content more. I make a lot of these mistakes. Not making army and bucking to early pressure is my problem.

tbh im fine with more like this, so long as your multi-people games (1v4, 2v6, handicap hera vs 5 1k+ players etc) keep coming. kinda like you say with this guy : keep it simple, double down on the simple things that work, and then make small switches to improve or test the waters., i approve of this small switch cuz more content is W imo.

One major thing that holds a lot of people back is that instead of taking the steps to improve, they play down to their elo. They don't correct their major mistakes because no one at that elo punishes them for those mistakes. If you have friends that are 200-300 elo higher than you ask them to 1v1 you and not hold back. It will reveal a lot more areas to improve.
On the other hand it should make fun. And you need a lot of time to work to improve like analyse recordings, watching these Kind of videos etc✌️
@@2cunem Fun and getting better are the same thing for competitive people. For non competitive people there are always casual games, campaings, the AI skirmish.. or just your level on the ladder. But for people who are competitive by nature, or atleast competitive in videogames like CS:GO or AO2, we have fun by getting better and seeing those ranks rise. And that takes time ofcourse.
But if no one punishes them then is it really a mistake?

I think Yeti is 1100 probably, I know cause I struggled to reach 1200 and this "mistakes" like unit production, a lot of idle tc and no necessary upgrades are the ones that made me stay a lot under 1100. He reached 1200 cause had a lot of points per win for new account, but the time he played against a 1200 lose. If u r like me, 11++ struggling, listen to hera, practice dark age!

It feels easier to keep your TC running in castle age especially considering us lower elo players almost always have to many farms relative to the units we are building so we always float a ton of food.

Don't take losses too personal. People have been playing this game literally for decades. Enjoy the base buildup, fights etc. You will settle in your ELO where you can start climbing up again.

One of main problem of Yeti was floating thousands of resources and just getting upgrades, while not making units.
Getting to 200 population focusing on one unit first is a great point of view to think of the game. Keep up this coaching content.

My dak age is perfect 20pop (9.15) with 0 experience in rank's. And go castle age under 20min. But I turn into a potato XD
I went and played the other night and gained like 100 rating points all the way up to 1100 elo. 60 of the points I got were from people quitting immediately. In all the games I win though, my eco is always way worse than my opponents. I just win the war. If the game goes long, it’s an auto loss because they have way better eco and my vil count is like 30-40% less.

I'm 850 ELO, my Dark Age and early Feudal is nearly perfect. I get to raid, put myself in great position and then it all falls apart. I don't see how this player keeps a consistent flow of villagers in Castle Age but not in Feudal :D

I do basically this same build with about 20 seconds idle in Dark ages still, but yeah once I hit Castle and add TCs then hitting All TC hotkey and queueing villagers just comes more naturally idk. Still Looking to tighten that up
I think this is actually a pretty good example of why RTS games are unpopular/stale. The amount of time you have to use to optimize/learn the build orders makes the games boring.
Please 🙏 do more and more and more of these. I watch a lot of your videos, but these are super educational when it isn't you playing. It's hard to play as perfect as you, so these are super helpful. I'm playing on xbox while playing Cross Play. Can you also do more of these for 2v2 as well?

for me personally it feels harder to not idle my TC during dark age, because I forget it while deer and boar luring sometimes or deer luring makes me forgot to place the house at 15 pop. Also somehow I use select all tcs more from castle age forward, I don't even know why. But if have my base secured, producing out of 3 tcs seems super manageable, but in dark age I feel like sometimes there is too many tasks that have to happen in a relatively small time window and I sometimes fuck up.

On keeping TC working. Often in dark age, your res is less for food. So, you are spamming the button, but not noticing that nothing has queued cause the bank is empty.
Perhaps force dropping from the boar first to ensure there is a bank there to queue a lot of vills
Dark age is harder for me to keep the TC running. Scouting, boars and deer need to be hunted, houses need to be built. In Castle Age you have more food, all TCs grouped and just jam that villager hotkey.
i am wondering the thing about the elo am strugling on 900 elo and playing vs rly good players this guy play seems to me like 500 elo so am just asking what the heck is going on 1200 elo? how i cant make that transition i could see myself so many mistakes and i am sure my play is much better? no offense just dont understand how i meet and play vs such good players on that 900 elo while this plays hapening on 300 + elo
Low'ish ELO reviews are insanely good
Blue had too little vills and was floating a lot of res at the end, panic mode activated it seems. Looks like me playing RBW El Reinado ladder against a 1k8 or higher opponent 11.
Stemaata spent time walling their base so ofcourse they would have a deficit in ressources gathered, atleast thats my head cannon. But those walls are.. easily breachable as you said yourself. So while they are not solely responsinble for defense and they should just buy you time to rotate your troops to the attacked spot on your wall.. they are not always a great investment against passive low level players. However they should be a habbit you pick up to counter feudal aggression that will for sure start to come up while you climb ranks.
I know the importance of dark age and feudal age, but a lot of the castle age stuff I’m usually unprepared. I’ll try the the one unit only thing.
These videos are right up my alley. Appreciate the look into the cost and how mistakes like putting resources into pikes cost him a killing blow earlier in the game. Keep these up!

Is there a difference between patrol and attack move in terms on how the unit behaves on the way? I mean with patrol they go back once they reach the destination, and with attack move they dont. So I would use attack move only, in case I am too distracted to cancel the patrol when they reach the destination. Or is there another difference I am not aware of?

I really like when you cast this level of coaching. It feels like it's more relatable and helps better more people's playstyle. Some people in this rank have the opposite issue though, where dark and feudal age are great, but they get slaughtered in late castle and imp like myself. I would love to see a coaching around that.
