It's good advice, but my experience of staying in my lane and happy with what I was able to control turned into cacoon'ing away from her, which didn't work either. I'm not sure where the sweet spot would have been.
For me, it's learning to drop my ego and resentment and inviting her to join me...whenever she's ready, at her convenience. It's usually something we've both enjoyed sharing in the past: kayaking, hiking, biking, etc.
