Im a vfx compositor, and i keep coming back to your breakdowns for composition lighting and framework, it would be great if you could breakdown some vfx shots from a cinematographer's perspective. or you could even take some badly lit or composited shot, and explain why its bad. it would be very educational.
From 5:40 it's fascinating to see the constant shift in orientation of the sofa between the wide and the singles/two-shot in order to prioritise the composition and lighting. Another brilliant breakdown, thanks!
Would love to see a breakdown of a scene from the show Shrinking. Curious about their approach, especially shots where they break the rules of the framework and it still works.

There's genius in the simplicity.. Looking forward to working through your exposure course. Cheers mate
wow, the practical placements are KILLER! it's like he sees into the future.
Some how I didn't like the large practical between the couple seated on the sofa . Otherwise I think Roger has a very promising future in this game .
Sweet. Thanks for the video and wisdom

So amazing job. But can you share about set up lights too😊
have you looked at or studied any Christopher Nolan/Hoyte Van Hoytema films for a YT video?
Deakins video, do a shot!
I hate the way a lot of cinematographers use practicals and what I hate the most is the directors who let them get away with such immense laziness.
hate leads to suffering.
