Definitely underrated . I'll mention them to friends and there like "who?" . At least they didn't go mainstream and sell out thou . I love that not many people know them tbh 😊
I used to work with a guy I'd regularly swap CDs with to expand our musical horizons, but this guy absolutely wouldn't listen to any Wildhearts stuff (he said they're too 'glam rock' for him). So, anyway, I slipped Earth Vs into a 'Lit' CD case and then continually berated him for not listening to it until he did. There are two types of people in this world: people who understand the majesty of the Wildhearts and people who don't yet know how to live.

@@JimFyfe-tb2df The original release in August 1993 didn't have Caffeine Bomb on it. After the release of the Caffeine Bomb single the album was rereleased with Caffeine Bomb added and a new back cover. Saw them last weekend in Cornwall , fucking reduced me to tears , 1 st gig for 2 years , god bless the fucking wildhearts, Britain doing what Britain does best ! , god bless ya ginger x
You almost don’t notice Richie ‘s drumming. Not because he isn’t a good drummer (he’s excellent) , but because he’s so clinical - tight and solid that everything just flows so cohesively.

I'm french from Paris and in the summer 97 i was in London for a few weeks. The first night in my hotel room i put the TV on and the first thing i saw was The Wildhearts playing "Anthem" (What's that !? Never heard about them in France) the next day i was in a London record shop looking for their albums , and since i became a fan. Great rock band !!! Thousand Thank's for this live on YT.
First gig I ever went to was WIldhearts in 95-96 at the Barras in Glasgow when they were promoting PHUQ. Best fkn night of my life! Great fkn music, even shared a spliff with Ginger! What a night! Still one of my fave bands after all these years.
I live in Australia these days. But I think I was at the same gig among so many others at the barrowlands. Without a shadow of a doubt the best venue in the world. Dave Grohl gave me a slice of pizza outside the Barras while promoting colour and the shape. What a place.
I (vaguely, I was pretty drunk) remember the first time I saw these guys, in Newcastle as a student, and being blown away by the fun and energy. In the 25 years or so since then, I've lost count of the number of times I've seen them (and Ginger's other projects) live, and they never, ever, disappoint. Should've been huge, still are to their many fans.
Saw their first ever gig...an all nighter at Rock City, Nottingham. I was curious about them, within 30 seconds I turned to my mate and said 'these are something else'. Great band and a song for every occasion/mood
Great upload in phenomenal quality, thank you. I went to see them in Manchester on this tour and it was every bit as good as watching them on the original Earth Vs. tour. Support from Hey! Hello! too, so you got Ginger twice in one night.
Still remember buying this album on a whim and hearing the opening to TV tan, knowing I'd just bought something really special! Thanks for this upload! Great quality.
It was Suckerpunch on MTV that made me buy it. Absolutely love this album. I wrote to them asking for the tab to 'Don't Be Happy... Just Worry" and their PR wrote back saying sorry, they don't provide the tab (but the band thought I could work it out) and enclosed a signed 'Don't Be Happy..." album cover. That meant the world to me as a kid and I still love them to this day, 25 years later.
Same, first CD I ever bought, having never heard of the band but just on the strength of song titles alone. They had me at the opening bars of Shitsville and have been my favorite band ever since.
In 199-somthing I heard 'life is like a love bank' on Noisy Mothers. Loved the Wild hearts ever since. The fact that Devin did a brief stint just makes it even better!
was so lucky to see them at their last show last year, small local venue in Ostend Belgium, 150 fans, they blew my mind away, goosebumps all over .... again .... again ...... \m/
Absolutely! Songs that are two or three levels above the conception of almost every other band, and if you can't headbang to Wildhearts songs then there's something very wrong with you!!!! I literally have their songs in my head at least 60% of the time.
Seen WH several times over the years and gutted they looked to have split up god good this time. I’ve never seen this recording. So so good and shows them at there best.
I uploaded a good quality version just after this show, that I recorded with a high quality stereo recorder, and it got taken down by YT. Oh well glad this one has been allowed to stay!
Oh my what a blowup this is! Absolutely phenomenal. The new Live album is another Bomb. Can't wait for September when the follow up to Renaissance Men comes out. Canada is Jonsing for the Wildhearts Big time Eh? The Great White North needs a Wildhearts Tour in our lifetime. If not it's the UK and it's muck then. I'm swimming over the fookin' pond MF's!!!
Saw these as a 17 year old at Rock City, with Kerbdog and The Almighty (my first gig). c1992?? I remember Ginger saying "next time we come back here we're gonna be fuckin' headlining". Crowd was absolutely mental......this one seems a bit quiet (only 10 mins in..), but it's nice to see some pre covid normality. Any footage/audio? I see the Glasgow audio from the 1992 tour is on youtube
1993 I think, The Almighty's Powertrippin' tour! I saw them at Wolverhampton on that same tour. I always watch the support bands, "just in case", and although I've seen some crap as a result, that was an awesome lineup!
Ginger said at the beginning that they were playing the original release of Earth vs.. Caffeine Bomb is not on the original release. We got it played as the first choice at the Glasgow leg of this tour. Bit jealous they played Two Way idiot Mirror and Just in Lust here!! What a fantastic show, I really enjoyed watching this. Thanks for posting.
The most underrated rock n roll band of all time FACT
I'd say they were rated as fuck.
Only the purists know and appreciate their music
Definitely underrated . I'll mention them to friends and there like "who?" . At least they didn't go mainstream and sell out thou . I love that not many people know them tbh 😊
I hit the thumbs up from 69 to 70...feel a lil guilty bout that lmao😅😂😂🎉

Funny that Silver Ginger 5 was the main man's way of scratching that glam itch though!
Too glam for the grunge kids, too noisy for the glam mob. Forever trapped just being amazing without the recognition.
2 kinds of people dude , people who love the wildhearts & weird fuckers !
XD

Listening to this yet again, I'm once again blown away by how tight the guys are here. Amazing gig, wish I'd been there!
Indeed, there's no such thing as too much The Wildhearts in one's life.
Such a clean performance, what a band!
maybe up there with appetite one of the greatest debut albums ever still sounds fresh awesome badass real rock n roll
Man, I wish they'd gotten to play 'Beautiful Thing You'. I love that song! It got me through some very rough times.

It really is. Even though it's not bathed in distortion and reverb, it's just so good.
What a fuckin singalong. Cheers lads, it's always a blast.
