    It is worse if you are a doctor yourself (my case), but trust me guys, you do get better. I'm not 100% out, but I'm confident I'll be. Go to a therapist, take meds if necessary for anxiety or depression, buy most importantly, take it easy on yourselves.

    This is so helpful. This is exactly what I needed to learn and is a missing piece of the healing puzzle. Going to doctors for years to figure out these bizarre symptoms creates my health anxiety. This video is everything to me right now. Dr.Yo you are changing my life. Like you say this steps are simple but it’s not easy. Just knowing the steps is the beginning of the way out. Thank you and God bless your work.

      This is exactly it. We are told to get medical clearance but with health anxiety we don't stop when the right info is given, we need more doctors opinions, more testing, more variety of testing, more ER visits and more obsessing over each symptom. We see ourselves as a ticking time bomb and we MUST fix this, but in reality we just need to know we're truly safe already, the needed testing were done, even if not all out there.

    I never thought I had anxiety. I thought my chronic dizziness gave me anxiety. Once I learned all the symptoms anxiety can create, more of my symptoms made sense and acceptance was easier. I treat them both the same way. Kill two birds with one stone. Do nothing to fix it. Feel it, make your body loose, let it be there and live your life. It's not comfortable, but it won't kill you. I am now driving again after 15 years and I will use this process for the rest of my life. It's useful for all difficulties life can bring:)

    Again Dr Yo you have hit the nail on the head. I am forever grateful to have found you. My heart is slamming in my chest right now bc my husband has gone away for a few days. As my anxiety increases my body creates sensations to amplify my fear . It is a nasty little trick to keep the cycle going. I have heard the statement “interesting if true but so what” and this seems to fit here. Fixing with breathing just tells my brain there is something wrong, but telling my brain ….i don’t give a f#$k is kind of counter intuitive after 25 years of this but honestly it is SPOT ON.

    thank you for this Dr. Yo. I know you talked about this in this video but maybe this is my fixer that i am using which is you and trying to get reassurance from any comments back from you but i guess i will try to not rely on fixers but just one time for this i need reassurance so I wanted to ask how to deal with a setback or having sensations again after starting something new after years of having a routine centered around your sensations and living life at the very minimum in that way to try and keep sensations low. So example living very basically and not doing much for years to now bringing a new change that requires a change in routine and environment but this new thing has caused a lot of anxiousness and actually experiencing sensations you havent felt in a while the biggest being the lightheaded feeling which is horrible that is leading to more anxiousness and thoughts of wanting to escape and quit everything to going back to a bed bound life because that may bring relief again, how should one deal with this.

    Hi dr. Yonit, thank you so much for this video. I really needed this great explanation. I have a question, maybe you have some tips for me. I have most symptoms when i walk and when i am moving. In the video you give a example for when feeling anxious when you read a negative comment. Is the approach the same for when feeling anxious while walking? I feel i am still too much focussed on the symptoms while walking and do a lot of parasympatic breathing and somatic tracking while walking (maybe too much). Is allowing the anxiety to ramp up a better way to improve walking? And maybe not do all the exercises to fix it? Love to hear from you and thanks for everything ❤❤

    • @TheSteadyCoach

      Great question! Yes, try not to fix it - just allow it to be there. See if you can get more neutral about it, like "oh hello anxiety, fancy seeing you here, come along for my walk," and maybe even just noticing what it feels like to have the anxiety.

    • @TheSteadyCoach
      @TheSteadyCoach  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Great question! BPPV is simple to treat and I always recommend people get it taken care of, but TMS can mimic BPPV. The only way to know for sure is be checked by a vestibular therapist and have the treatment done if you have the symptoms, and then if the symptoms persist even after treatment, that's a good sign it's TMS pretending to be BPPV.

      @@SudokuPUA it’s John Sarno’s acronym (Tension myositis syndrome); Dan Buglio of the Pain Free You channel on TH-cam redefines it as PDP or perceived danger pain (this definition is easier to make sense of and understand in my opinion). Basically the brain creates sensations (symptoms) in our bodies when it gets scared and perceives danger. So the brain can create dizziness/vertigo/etc even if there’s nothing structurally out of place vs BPPV which is the displacement of the crystals in the ear canals. Does that help?

      Often they start with something biological that wasn't a huge problem. What starts symptoms isn't usually what makes them become chronic. But what if everything i do, like walking with my dog- or going out with friends-seems to me like : i do this in order to fix my symptoms🙈

      There’s always some measure of trying to fix when you don’t feel well! That is ok. This video applies specifically to things that you do obsessively and compulsively to try to fix anxiety.

      I believe this is where working with an OCD specialist with a strong understanding of ACT would be helpful. ACT is very helpful at working with the mental compulsions in OCD. The self-analysis, self-judgement, internal narratives, etc… are often just another form of compulsion in OCD, they just can’t be seen like physical compulsions.

    Why only dizziness and vertigo causing anxiety and depression ?

      It's terrible to have these symptoms, period, so they definitely make anxiety and depression worse. But many people have anxiety and depression before the symptoms.

    I’ve only re listened to this fabulous episode x 10 as there’s so much in each point you make Yonit. Of course it’s all about a fear fix but we don’t see it! We fear the health OCD fear so incredibly that even a short respite brings us the brief relief only to be again betrayed. Breaking the cycle is the ONLY way for ALL the reasons you give. I chronically hyperventilate + with air hunger for hours at a time it’s virtually impossible to loosen and accept. Well that’s the story. Now I won’t use the parasympathetic breath or somatic tracking and instead let the fear run. The 90 seconds turnaround for stress chemicals to wash through the body is what I’ve also been working with. This brings some comfort by not grabbing / attaching to the air hunger. Much love and your service to us is gold🫶🏻😇

      Lynn, your comments always make me feel so loved! Thank you! And excellent point about the 90 second turnaround!
