Watch some of the world's best Elden ring players (Lilaggy, Bushy, Star0chris) and even THEY still struggle with the hitboxes on that charge attack. That should tell you something
Real! I was just not having any fun during this fight and I kept on thinking that surely it’s just because I was tired or already in a bad mood from fighting some of the Mesmer soldiers. It was quite cathartic for me to see that I wasn’t the only one who didn’t enjoy this guy.
For anyone struggling: run diagonally forward so he has to bend his path and meet you at about a 70 degree angle - this allows you to dodge forward as shown, but his ass wont be there to roll catch you when you roll trough his head.

I found it fun using the deflect hard tear. I am guessing people struggled with dodging the attacks so learn the deflect for guaranteed safety. Makes it especially easy to stop the charging attack.
There's only so much stacking in the enemies favor before a game's difficulty loses its charm. Then, out of frustration, people change their builds and use the most obtuse means of victory which saps all the glory. Lose-Lose situation.
Scrubs, not people. People get good and memorize bosses' patterns, and scrubs like you who want instant gratification will cheat/summon players/summon mimic/look online for a cheese build. Stop assuming everyone is as bad as you are at videogames.
That boar charge might be the most annoying boss attack Fromsoft has ever produced. Horns low to the ground that extend the hitbox forward away from the boar's body. Tall grass to conceal it from view on top of the fact the camera angle and your character's body already does. A hitbox that reaches back to the boar's ass so rolling through just doesn't work, and rolling to the side will still get clipped if you do it too early. Quick start up, very hard to adjust to when the AI decides to do it at near point blank range for whatever reason.
Oh man The final boss of the DLCs second phase is the worst Thing, I have ever had the unfortunateness of having to fight. It isn't even fun, dude. It completely killed all joy. I had playing the DLC.
First fight ever to consider a shield, so I rocked him with the Fingerprint shield and the great spear lance with no summon, freaking pig! (Almost made me give up my no Sacadoosh bless run)
Hey, sorry if everybody already knows this but since I haven't seen anyone talk about it you can ride on torrent for this fight and it's easy to dodge the charge that way along with his other attacks
Once I figured this guy out he was a lotta fun to fight with the ruin colossal sword but some of his attacks need a rework like when the boar does the kick I got hit by it twice in the same hit and got one shotted by him.
The opposite would be so stupid, I'm glad theywent the way the they did. Just apply Scarlet Rot/poison and run in circles lmfao , just cheat buddy, just cheat at this point.

Dude I made it nearly all the way through with my strength build just suffering. Thought those scurdtree fragments were consumables so I didn’t use them, I had a truckload saved up. I cashed them all in at once, buffed for defense and have melted like 10 bosses in the span of 2 day. And I am the most casual souls player. Use those fragments if you aren’t already

FYI, for those who don’t know, you can summon Torrent, but even that is useless because his isn’t long enough to avoid the charge attack. Neither does jumping. Also, the charge is faster than Torrent. So yeah, he’s useless in the fight.
Gaius and the final boss's second phase are serious contenders in beating bed of chaos for the title of shittiest fromsoft boss. Like, in the fifth run, can even do them "reliably", but they are so shitty and bad to fight, you don't even feel good after beating them.

I asked a friend in call when I first saw this boss "how do you dodge the initial dash?". friend responded saying "slight right". As a pc player who only has acess to straight ahead or 45* i was saddened.
I can't count the amount of time's i've been told this and my answer will always be no. I own one, i have the cord, but I'll go to hell and back before I use it. both preferably and luckily I just got good

I hate the dlc now I was outside the boss room for midra, decided to head back to roundtable hold to upgrade my katana and the game got stuck on a loading screen then crashed. After 2 hours of trying to get back on elden ring, it eventually workes HOWEVER I WAS SENT BACK TO THE BEGINNING OF THE DARKLIGHT CATACOMBS
Why do y'all heal at the strangest time. Or attack when you had a clear moment to heal? Honestly from this and from Co-oping with people, some of y'all out there need lessons on basic boss dodging. BTW I just running Jump to the side for the charge and it works about 85% of the time. Depends what angle and how close. Okay actually I'll just put it here. Don't heal in the boss' face when he is NOT attack. That is rule number one, the game is PROGRAMED to queue up an attack the moment you begin healing. How have you guys gone this long without realizing that. You WAIT for the boss to do an attack and while he is recovering, you heal. NOT ATTACK. If you're issue is that you're dying with heals in the bank, you were being too greedy and not observing the boss. MEMORIZED his attack patterns instead of senselessly bonking your head against it. C'mon people this is BASIC boss fighting 101. I quite literally did this boss on my third or fourth attempt while having heard about it being difficult. Its not that difficult, some of y'all just refuse to explore and get the schado-be-do-be-doo fragments and it SHOWS. They are quite literally your new level progression. PLEASE, as a mainly co-oper in this game, PLEASE learn for your mistakes. Stop panic rolling, bosses are DESIGNED in this game to PREY on panic rolling. I BEG OF YOU. Playing a healer build is worse then being an invader somehow. I literally stopped being an invader in this game and somehow being a co-oper is WORSE. HOW, HOW DO YOU PEOPLE MANAGE IT. Most people don't know this but you can just summon torrent for Commander Gaius and it makes the boss fun again
That implies fighting on torment is a fun experience in its own right

The latest patch made it so that he always spawns over in the far corner on subsequent attempts, not just the first time you fight him.

You can dodge through him with med roll, but it’s pretty much frame perfect as far as I can tell
