I love my bosses diamond Rio it has a 6spd with a 2 speed rear end with a big cam Cummins I love that truck and it makes me smile every time I fire it up
Whats the old saying, Jessie James without a gun! You did very well on the trucks. I tried to buy a better tandem GMC with air brakes, same vintage, on line 2 different times, no go. They still want big money every time I try. My 76 GMC tandem is the same size about, but mine it really bad rusted cab and no air brakes. I won 't let anyone else drive it loaded, those vac booster hydraulic brakes aren't much better than dragging your feet to stop it. Mine is tagged for 45000 Lbs, and it's legal on axle loads. I can get 600 bu on it but way over weight. 500 bu we're still legal. If your not too many miles to haul, the poor MPG won't hurt, mine is a 427 gas with the auxillary trans twin screw, we average about 5 MPG. I won't go over 40 loaded as it takes too much distance to stop loaded.
On Big Red, that transmission is "Timed" not Synchronized. Double Clutch it or learn to "Float" the gears with the throttle. Check the front hubs, looks like they are oil hubs, not grease. King pins and Rebush the Hendrickson rear suspension and that will help with the "Wandering". No matter what, that is going to make One Heck of a Farm Truck. I'm a GM guy but I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the Ford Louisville Line. Is it a 13 or a 15 spd. My neighbor had a 9000 with a 3208 and a 5 and 4 with a 20 ft bed and a20 ft pup trailer with a 450 bushel gravity box. We could get a little more than 1000 Bushels on that combination. Well I just gotta say, I'm Jealous! 👍🇺🇲
😁 No fire ball , that’s good see . Old grain truck seems to be a good idea . Lots of new videos 😁 see . Piss on the tire Buddy . Good one Ross . Can’t wait for tomorrow .
Thanks for another interesting video. I'd say if those 2 trucks were running good and had government safety inspections up here in Canada they'd cost you about 30K the pair with the crazy prices stuffs making in online auctions locally. One thing my Grandad and Dad have both said over the years was some of that cheap auction stuff was only cheap until you started bidding. if the other guy wanted it more than you it was going to cost way more than 1200 for that other truck. The best lawn tractor we've had here was a free Kubota 1870, one of my customers gave it to me from his kids custom lawn business. They put 900 hours on it, before they quit when going to further education. He got fed up moving it on a pallet with a front loader one day after it sat in a shed 4 years and loaded it in my truck. I cleaned the carb/fuel tank put a tube in a front tire and bought a new battery. That was over 3 years ago it's had nothing much other than service stuff since and it's still worth a $1000 in an auction. Take care
Hey Ross! I picked up a New Idea 631 gear at an auction a few months ago, and that looks like the same green paint! Mine is under a really rusty gravity box that I’m filling with scrap metal. When it’s full, I’ll pull it and another wagon loaded with scrap in, have the scrapyard pull the gravity boxes off with a loader, and turn the running gear into kicker wagons for behind my baler.
@@rosstheoliverman I found a picture of a New Idea brochure (I think if you Google New Idea 631 it should be easy to find) that shows one with orange wheels (Bittersweet, I think it’s called?) mine has 3 15x11 rims and one 15x9 rim. The 15x11’s have a white color that’s most recent, but I also see gray, black, orange, and a different white/cream showing through, so who knows what the original was, lol.
I got a free cadet this summer. Had a full tank of gas. People were going to take it to the dump. Drained out all the extra oil in it that was overfilled and runs pretty good now. We run a water well business and I get into people's backyards and see all the stuff in the weeds.
Wow, you got some good deals there. Can't believe you'll grain truck didn't even sound like it Had an exhaust leak an that pickup looks like it has lots of potential
Ross, more opportunities! On that NI running gear, the paint on the wheel hubs is the original color. It was the New Idea green that was used on the frames of 323,324, and 325 corn pickers as well as the metal parts of manure spreaders. The wheels were a cream color.
Awesome! I thought it looked green but in certain light I couldn’t tell. I’ll have to get working on that project before next time I need wagons 🤣 Thanks John!
NO shortage of new projects to work on. That tandem Louisville Ford should be a workhorse!!! Happy Thanksgiving. You must be in the right place at the right time for bargains.
i hauled a lot of peas and sweet corn in a ford just like that with a 20 foot box it was gas also! when you got in the cab that brought back memories. my old truck with the same kind of box 20 foot long depending on moisture of corn i could haul if i remember right 5 to 600 bushel
Drag axel or both drive? Old tandems go cheap any more around here. You could have bought 3 tandems and a single axel at my uncles auction for less than 5K and had a whole fleet to wrench on! 😂
Happy Thanksgiving Ross, awsome score on both trucks! and as far as getting distracted and going off into different subjects and stories, i wouldn't worry about it. I find some of the tangents you go off on just as interesting as everything else in the video. Also helps to know im not alone in that regard. 😅
Ross, sounds like you got a pretty good deals on the auction and your freebies🎉. I guess the next thing you'll need to try is using the truck to pull four wagons behind it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 have a good Thanksgiving 🦃🦃🦃 thanks Michael
Great byes Ross free stuff is even better, iam guilty of the same things I bye things then use them or sell them , can't wait for the videos . Happy Thanksgiving From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful
😂😂 you didn't do to bad if you never drove a non synchronized transmission before but it was still entertaining. I hate them old Dayton wheels, but hey, if it's cheap, you deal with it if it's a farm truck. I like the surelock tarps to. We have them on our dump trailers and walking floor trailers
Looks like you got some solid good buy regardless of some of the issues. Fixing them up, easy, just time consuming and if you're willing, it's worth it in the end. Honestly, for that grain truck, I'll take that gas over the diesel. Some of the Ford diesels for that year of truck, just were not that good. Cheers :)
I bought a 2015 ext cab long bed last year 4x4 with a crate 6.2 gas for 21k and thought I got a deal been looking for 6 years door a 3/4 ton by reasonable
Well your addiction has upgraded to a disease 🤣🤣 Air brakes that would be nice, I've blowen 3 lines on the old IH this fall, it would be nice to not have to prime the brakes after each failure.
Be careful of them steps getting in and out of that truck they could be very dangerous not weight-wise or anything just where you place your foot I drove a Ford 8000 for many years and I fell out of it quite a few times
What a deal on the trucks! Get the pickup going yank off the useless factory box and put a flatbed on it .
We have to see how it runs first and then I’ll decide what its fate is.
Treasures galore especially big Red. 👍👍
I’m hoping that turns out to be as good as it looks!!
I love my bosses diamond Rio it has a 6spd with a 2 speed rear end with a big cam Cummins I love that truck and it makes me smile every time I fire it up
Cool
When I saw the flat tire on the front of the Cub Cadet riding mower, I knew it was fate that you needed it.
🤣🤣🤣
That hydraulic lift on that wagon is worth more than what you gave for the whole trailer load
Glad you got some good deals.
Thanks Timothy!
All kinds of good stuff. A free sign at the end of a driveway means you always stop to pick up lol
Very cool Ross, I'm looking forward to you're next adventure.
Thank you!
Nice finds , thanks for sharing 👍💨💨
Thanks Darren!

Love your Ford truck purchases! That grain truck is cool 😎
Thanks Johnny!

Thanks Jonathan!
Two awesome trucks buddy👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Scott
Well done Ross! What finds. Really like the Ford grain truck!
Thanks Scott!

Nice Fords!

Very sure you have a none synchronized transmission. Only use the clutch to start out, then shift without the clutch
Yeah, I’m gonna need to get used to it.
Good auction buys Ross and projects galore looking forward to video's of them all
Thanks Stephen!
Nice truck
Thanks Samuel!
Good deals
My second rule for auctions. Be prepared to buy stuff you didn't consider cause it will be cheap and you can always flip it if you don't need it.
Agree!
ol big reds a beaut
Thanks!!!
MORE PLEASE

Thanks Don!!!
Looks like it is a twin screw too.
Yup! It should be able to haul a pretty good load.
I would say you did real good on all those items.
Thanks Shane!
If that wagon running gear was from the 60's to the 70's it would have been a dark green, if it was eatlier it would have been orange.
Looks like you got a lot of good stuff
I think I did! Time will tell. Thanks Mark!

I love auctions, my wife does not love when I go to them 😅

Thanks Doug!
Happy Thanksgiving Ross, awsome score on both trucks! and as far as getting distracted and going off into different subjects and stories, i wouldn't worry about it. Nice video Ross, and great job on the sale bargains. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks Larry!
Outstanding auction buys! Hard to pass up a good deal
Thanks!!
Have you watched oldfarmjunk101 video of a cockshut auction the other day? It will make you very sad to see what one item in particular sold for
you like alot of work
I wouldn’t say I like it, that’s just all I can afford 🤣🤣🤣
Happy Thanksgiving Ross
Thanks Wayne!
Great byes Ross free stuff is even better, iam guilty of the same things I bye things then use them or sell them , can't wait for the videos . Happy Thanksgiving From turkey creek farms be safe n thankful

My rule for auctions is don’t go if your not willing to buy something
Agree!
Cool buys Ross, and Happy Thanksgiving
Thanks!!
12:59 if ya can’t find em grind em
🤣
I can drive that truck for you lol then I could get a free tour of all the good stuff
then I would probably have to do a harder job which is why I like driving the truck now 🤣🤣🤣
😂😂 you didn't do to bad if you never drove a non synchronized transmission before but it was still entertaining. I hate them old Dayton wheels, but hey, if it's cheap, you deal with it if it's a farm truck. I like the surelock tarps to. We have them on our dump trailers and walking floor trailers
I don’t like those wheels either! It’s been a long time since I drove one of those transmissions and this one’s got a slightly different pattern.
@rosstheoliverman is it a u pattern or a 15 speed? I never ran a 15 but I drove some trucks that were a u. It takes a little bit to get used to.
Cheers :)
Thanks! I wish it had that Detroit motor that’s in my cousins blue one.
You’ll need all them gears when you get that ole girl loaded. I would like to find a 9000 semi with a 3406 cheap like that.
I know, I wish it was a diesel then it would really be a horse.
U trip me out u would fit in here in south ga great
🤣 Glad to know there’s others of my species out there
I bought a 2015 ext cab long bed last year 4x4 with a crate 6.2 gas for 21k and thought I got a deal been looking for 6 years door a 3/4 ton by reasonable
It’s hard to find decent trucks for reasonable prices anymore sadly 😭
Not sure how much you paid for that big truck but I do believe you got a good one!
He said $1500
Yup $1500
550 to 575 bushes my guess
I figure it’ll be in that range. Thanks Troy!
I'm going to estimate it hold 500 to 550 bu I have a truck with similar length but mine is a foot taller and it holds just a little over 600.
I figure it’ll be between 500 and 600 but we will see! Thanks!!
That is green
The money I spent on this stuff was green 🤣
Got pull starters for nitro RC car s
Cool!
Is it a dump truck?
Yes
😄😄👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Paul !
Give her gas when down shifting
Motor speed sncrynize with gear
Yeah, I tried different things I just need to go out and practice driving it. I’ll get used to it eventually
