There is another on youtube, only it's called "Cabaret Wilkommen" (not Wilkommen, Bienvenue, Welcome). You will find it under this usually when you search cabaret wilkommen.
You are both correct (partly).. This is clearly a version dubbed in Italian. However, the parts of the song that use French and German words have remained, (i.e. Wilkommen and Bienvenue or fremde and etranger). The narration is in Italian.
you're joking arent you? this movie had 8 oscars....beside that the musical was for over 2 years i think on broadway and had 1,165 runs, revival in 1987 with 261 runs and again 1998 with 2,377(!!!) runs only on Broadway. It has awarded since then 12 Tonys (8 for the original), it is one of the most successfull musicals in the world besides Chicago, Les Miserables, Cats, Starlight Express, Rocky horror picture Show,Spiderman,Wicked and so on and so on!
thumbs up if your favourite music acts from the movie are: -Willkommen -Mein Herr -Money, money -Life is a cabaret -If you could see her through my eyes ...in that order! XD
@curlzferrero Oh sweet man thanks! You must be a genius to have found that. I had no clue that it was meant to be a painting. I thought it was just some creep with a monicle. Thanks again!
@narutofangrl LOL...at my school it was part of the curriculum! LOL But I went to a performing arts school and it was a music theater class. Ironically...people think these are fluff courses...but you can actually learn history and culture from entertainment media...if you have a well informed instructor. Thank you Mr. Jeff Beiring, Avondale H.S. Atlanta, GA 1990's!

Does anyone know the name of the painting that features the lesbian smoking? the painting is re-created in this scene, at 00:32. It's a very famous painting but I can't remember the name or who did it. PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF YOU KNOW!!! Thank you!
yeah...here in Poland it's fortunately only applied to children's films and blockbusters, but there are some countries where they do it to every movie, even the classics. Yuck...
The person at 0:32 creeps me out a bit, only because he/she is just so still, and I have no clue if that is a real person, or a wax figurine. The hand on his/her lap...
It's weird, most ordinary people back then probably saw cabaret culture the same way as we see Gaga. Still, this looks much classier than Gaga's trashy style.
There was one excellent version but I suspect that it was forced to be removed on copyright grounds. I expect that all the other scenes will soon follow suit. It's definitely worth buying the DVD though. I've had one for many years and have played it to death.
i came looking for blazing saddles and found this, i was not disappoint
This is by far one of the catchiest opening to one of the best movies I have ever seen in my entire 13 years on this planet! I love this so much!

Such a great performance! Still an enjoyable movie a claasic
Actually it's italian, but I'm happy you took your precious time to figure such a thing out.
There are a lot of DVD I would never have thought of buying if I had not seen a part of them on TH-cam or Dailymotion.
What an inspired piece of casting it was when Joel was chosen for this part. He is a real star.
Love simon

Dubbing should be considered as a crime...
No respect for original art.
I love him.

I wish I had saw this when I was there.

I am! Noah and Emily's performance was outstanding! My favorite season finale!
Oh crap! Sorry, I posted before actually watching LOL. I got you now...
have a look at Gennaro Cannavacciuolo's performance: a fantastic Italian actor and singer
It's based on a painting of Sylvia von Harden. Look up the painting.
Inferno by Dan Brown brought me here !
@curlzferrero Oh it's a painting? Gee I never knew that! Thanks!
This needs to be remade.
of couse.in the berthold brecht theatre
Joel Grey was dubbed by great italian actor Elio Pandolfi.
Do not dub, repect the original version
What an intro! Nothing really fancy. Just Joel Grey's silly but virtuoso performance to start off the film.
For a dub, this is actually quite good. The Italian didn't bother me.
I'm glad it did not (bother you)
I like the Afghan and Turkish versions, so much better (NOT)
.
I always forget just how terrifying this really is...
@narutofangrl
LOL...at my school it was part of the curriculum! LOL
But I went to a performing arts school and it was a music theater class.

@lakshoun THIS SURELY CAN NOT BE A SERIOUS QUESTION!???

If I remember well it's taken from a painting :)
It's Otto Dix's painting of Journalist Sylvia Von Harden. An icon in Weimar Germany.
yeah...here in Poland it's fortunately only applied to children's films and blockbusters, but there are some countries where they do it to every movie, even the classics. Yuck...
Took me a while to realize it was in spanish...
The person at 0:32 creeps me out a bit, only because he/she is just so still, and I have no clue if that is a real person, or a wax figurine. The hand on his/her lap...

he doesnt pronounce "Je suis enchanter" right...
but i still lyk it!
@obamafan98765 I think the idea is he doesn't pronounce anything right. His French and English are both heavily accented :P
Anybody else think Mel Brooks' "springtime for Hitler" recycled this melody?
is it french or german
Can someone tell me where I can find the original version please?
I prefer when he speak in english, the part in Italian is awful!
Italian is a beautiful language.
Except, if used to replace original art, then it is not ....
This is not Joel Grey’s voice
Then, all of a sudden I decided to join the SA...
It's dubbed into Italian?!
/watch?v=PzhihGDXfUg but shhhhht dont tell others or it gets removed too!
