Oshiri shouldn't be translated as hip. Oshiri is butt. Hip (the Japanese version) = Oshiri = Butt. Afaik there is no actual 1 to 1 translation for the Hip word in Japanese. Looking at the video, Koyori definitely talking about butt and not the actual hip. Probably the only time when Japanese use Hip correctly (as in correct per English definition) is for body size/clothing measurement. Basically there should be no issue translating Japanese to English regarding this thing. The issue is if you translate English to Japanese like "put your hands on your hip" which obviously you can't use Oshiri OR Hip (the Japanese version) because they (Japanese person that is not fluent in English) will end up touching their butt, but use koshi instead. Of course koshi is waist and not hip, but to achieve the same/similar result you use that. This is one of those weird case where a loan word ended up not having the same meaning as the original.
Yup that's what Shiori said, deepL did not mistranslate
Thank you for the video!!

There is a word for hip actually, don't know the writing for it in JP but it is "Koshi"
@@yushouji8952you didn't even read the whole post, because he said koshi is better translated as waist and not hip.
