We're so excited to share our "Falling Down The Stairs Of Your Smile" music video with you! Thanks director Mitchell deQuilettes for making this vision come to life.
@@matthewbrown7748 I would love to see them perform this song live! Especially with Neko, her sound really defines a lot about this band. Too bad I can’t find a live recording of this song with her on TH-cam. 😭
There is so much to love about this song. And keep in mind how awesome it is that there's only two chords! The drum tones kick ass, the loose hi-hat with that fat snare, juxtaposed to lush vocals and synth pads. Also how awesome it is that this was a recent release by the band and it may be their best song ever.
great song. best new release this year easy. this song is a bullet. should be on every alternative radio station. has the energy that the smashing pumpkins got with 1975.
This is art. Each time you watch it, you see something new and have to fill in the gap. E.g., the red shoes and the walk. Amazing work New Pornographers. I'm making plans to see you live.
Finally, after 4 months I found this song after only hearing parts of it on the radio. The dang jocks never gave out the name of the band or the song. Was so frustrating, ugh! Now I can stop searching and simply enjoy. I have to admit that my ears heard "now, now you got what you want me for" not "now, now you got what you want be full".
I can hardly contain my excitement for how wonderful this song is ! I've listened to it about 10 times in a row. I had already pre-ordered the CD and this song is making the wait tortuous. Just saw that you are playing here in SF at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival in Golden Gate Park Oct 4-6. That's my birthday and I'm taking the day off work and braving the crowds to see you :) Choreography reminds me of the show OA. Coincidence? This is absolutely infectious. The mood lift I needed right now.
There's an error in the very first cut where her footsteps switch from LRLR to RLRL, but it reminds me of those rugs where they put one wrong stitch in them (I think to remind us we're not perfect?). Anyhow, everything else here, every move, every beat, every pixel, every note, every change, every blink, .... I can't find an atom here that isn't sheer perfection. I could watch and listen to this 1,000x. Thank you artists and hard workers!
You guys closed this past decade with one of the most memorable tracks of the whole of 2010's! I look forward to hear how you'll continue into the next decade from here! Love from New Orleans, Dagobah!
I was surprised by the quality of this song. It’s been a while. This and Better Oblivion Community Center’s “Dylan Thomas”. Thanks for keeping the fire going awhile longer.
I was on an American Airlines flight from DFW to Paris and when the plane landed this song actually came on in the cabin. I was filming vlog footage so I Shazamed the background audio and this song came up.
Look at the Alex Ebert vid of the last 2 weeks... Haha! Someone said the same thing about the wandering cameraman behind the walking girl.... Must be really in to have walking people in videos this year.
Shanjo did they say what happened to her headphones😳. They took all the colorful stuff and came out looking like bland hipster agents👀🤭...send them back into the door they came out of and let them come back out the door they came in to get their colors back😂😂

God, I love this song. The bass line is killing me
Ssgt Griggs This song is EPIC live, with Carl, Kathryn, Neko and Simi all on vocals. F-Cking wicked.

The best pop music of the past 20 years has been created by bands and artists that most people have never heard of.
Amen brother! That's what I love about being a snarky hipster lol
The New Pornographers aren't an unknown band, they've been around since the 90s though lol
@@RedceLL1978 Right, I have just about everything they've recorded. But when I talk about this band to people, most of them need some sort of intro.
Anyone else know some good underated pop music?

Amazing

The Smashing Pumpkins collabed with the 1975?
This has such a nice 80's vibe, yet is very fresh. Listening to this song gives me great pleasure and a smile.
It Has That The Cars Grove
I love how this blends choreography with performance art!
This is art. Each time you watch it, you see something new and have to fill in the gap. E.g., the red shoes and the walk. Amazing work New Pornographers. I'm making plans to see you live.
As close to pop perfection as feasibly possible. Awesome!
Modern classic! This is such a fun song. Lots to love here! I can't wait to see The New Pornographers live again soon for the 15th time!

They seem to have fun during their videos.
Love when I hear them on Lightning 100 in Nashville!! Great song
ATTENTION: You have been drafted for Mandatory Service by the Ministry of Silly Walks.

They say walking's the best exercise. That's why I don't do it.
Haha it's funny bc I might get drafted for World War III in two years :^))))
Love this song and love this band.
These guys rarely disappoint.

The problem with LRLR is it's THTM (Too Hard to Spell).
@@EyeCandyAthlete That's hilariout! Thanks for the smile. ;)

That’s just BEAUTIFUL artistically and on so many other levels it’s not even funny ❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️🤘❤️❤️❤️❤️
Bruh whoever choreographed this is just brilliant!
Off to join the ministry of silly walks
Daniel McKenna With a grant from the ministry of silly walks, they could make this video really silly.
Not many songs give me 10 different emotions all at once. Nice work.
Joy bass and harmonies. Wonderful, NPs.
This is the culmination of all your work. Nice job Carl, Neko, et al! Album of the year! Change my mind!

Amazing how well NP music works with intricate choreography 😄
Where was this filmed?
Los Angeles
I have the same view of the skyline but from the other side. The bridge that they cross has been used in a lot of films and commercials.

Lol I used awhile and a while. Uhhhhhh
Just love this video, nevermind that the song is amazing, the choreography is so fun.
man this song is sick as hell! Love the drums, simple but captivating, and the bass is also pretty good.
Hi guys! Will Neko be with you at the Fillmore on February 1st 2020? Thanks! Cant wait to see you again!
WUSM brought me here. Luv the dance antics
Yay! So fun!
