For me one of my all time favourite albums from them is The War: The power of music - there is two tracks on this album that have mvs (Ko Ko Bop and Power) and one of their most famous/covered songs The Eve has a dance practice. Solid album (though EXO's discography is arguable one of the best in K-pop - they don't make a bad album lol)
For live performances I would suggest their Mama + Monster + Wolf performance at the Tokyo Dome or one of their El Dorado Performances to start with.

The first group to have a concept and storyline.
Answering questions and echoing lots of comments so this is long.
1. EXO debuted in April 2012 and basically started the 3rd gen. They debuted one year before BTS and are one of the more popular 3rd gen groups.
2. They are very popular. SM, their agency, doesn't really promote them too well and doesn't really have much interest in expanding to western audiences, so you won't hear a lot of UK or North/South American audiences talk about them at the same level people talk about BTS, Blackpink, Stray Kids, G-Idle, etc. That said, the fan base is still huge. And their success in Asia is insane. They've earned the nickname of Nation's Pick because of how loved they are in Korea and how many opportunities they have had (such as meeting massive political world leaders and opening for the Olympics). So many other idols grew up loving EXO and admire them dearly, so even if EXO isn't your fave, they're probably your fave's fave.
3. EXO are known as the Vocal Kings of Kpop. The main vocal line has some of the industry's best singers, and I know of many countdowns that either had them at the top or just didn't include them because they said they were automatically the top 3. Suho, the leader and the one in red you kept pointing out, is one of many members who audience's say could've been the main vocal of any other group because they're just that good. Even the rappers sound lovely when they sing. ALL THAT TO SAY, you can't go wrong with a live performance, they're all better than the studio versions. I recommend Wolf at the Exo'rdium. I didn't like the song much until I heard them do it live and now I'm obsessed.
4. I REALLY recommend their Killing Voice. It gives you snippets of multiple songs so you can later react to the ones that interest you most. It shows off their energy well too, but sadly, Kai (the guy with the abs) is not in it because of military service. He and Sehun (who entered military service AFTER the Killing Voice video) will be done snd back to the group by 2025. Until then, they're all doing solo work and seem really happy releasing their music 😊
5. To preemptively clear confusion. EXO started with 12 members, 8 korean and 4 chinese. 3 of the chinese members left. One is still in the group but unable to perform with them due to China/Korea politics, so he's been doing great things solo in the meantime. For this reason, most EXO songs will have 8 or 9 people featured. Anything less than that means someone is in the military or it's a sub unit.
I hope this has been helpful! Obviously more info on lore and history all that can be found in a guide if you ever feel inclined. But this should at least help for reaction purposes.

You should check out EXO's Dingo Killing Voice and EXO b-side killing voice and ‘2024 EXO FAN MEETING : ONE’ 수록곡 메들리 (B-Side Medley) where they sang snippets of their hits and b-sides. It's live. You can also get an idea of EXO songs/style/vocals.
Exo is one of the most popular group like other groups you named. From 2012 to 2018 was their era in kpop industry.
My personal favorite exo albums are : Tempo, The war, Exact, Exist, Don't fight the feeling & also their winter albums.

EXO = EXtraOrdinary. This iconic idol group, whose career spanned 12 years, still going very very strong. EXO debuted on April 8, 2012 (3rd gen), revived So. Korea's 12-year music industry drought when their first album (XOXO) sold over 1M copies. They have a huge fanbase globally despite the absence of int'l collabs & promos. I discovered EXO (and kpop) by accident 11 years ago. As hard as I’ve tried, I’ve never found a group that measures up.
Also check out live Mama - Monster- Wolf and then EXO Plant Dia😮mond - Coming Over - Run this Show - Drop This & Power, this was at end of about a 3 hrs. concert. You won't regret. Reason BTS was more popular. They were promoted more and also in United States. EXO was promoted more in Asian countries.
EXO have been one of the biggest groups in the 3rd gen of k-pop and their fan base still remains pretty solid.

😂😂😂if you have ask who are EXO. You are still at level 1 in KPOP. Reactions start with title tracks, then live performances, then B sides, then sub-units/solos, then OSTs, musical theatre & collabs & then next stage other activities. K-dramas, variety, gaming, modelling, presenting, academia, nations pick. Pace yrself down this rabbit hole cos it keeps moving as they keep releasing incredible music. The golden threads of EXO are everywhere it’s just they are as humble as pie.

Before BTS blew up, It was actually EXO who was ruling the kpop.EXO is one year older than BTS.BTS actually had to struggle a few years to get big, While EXO was the biggest group from their debut(2012) till 2018.BTS then started to get big, in 2019 EXO started their military journey that’s when their popularity slowed down ( their company slowed down their promotion from 2018)

There's one huge misinformation you're giving here. EXO was not the biggest group during their debut. They were definitely the most hated group around 2011-2012 tho.
Around that year, the biggest rookie groups were BAP and Nuest. Even BtoB was doing better than EXO.
EXO almost never appeared on tv other than around their debut promo period, all their schedules were outside of korea and around their debut period only. They went on hiatus and only appeared on year-end award shows. I remember they were hated by SM stans especially(I was one of the haters even). Reason why they were called "SM's biggest mistake" was because gen.public hated their concept and accused them for copying Suju(due to the huge number of members)
The tables turned because of Growl honestly. Like a literal 180 switch.

@@sweetxlies6761 not really. I've been stanning sm groups since 2nd gen, exo hate was kinda unhinged. They got the biggest anti-cafe months before debut. Bigger number of members than some fan cafes of their seniors). The only ridiculous thing the haters didn't do was threatened sm with stocks like they did with suju. And that was because of the graduation system, not because they hate suju.
Even though none of the members wrapped up in scandal and left like Riize, they still weren't received as well as Riize did when they debut.
It's honestly funny seeing knetz singing praises about exo's concept now when they made fun of it so much back in 2012. Let's not even start how intl kpop fans accused exo with illuminati and freemason because of mama concept (this one is just funny rather than being harmful).
WoW - somehow I feel the anti-EXO vibes. Don’t particularly care cos history is viewed both in short & long term impacts. So dig the negativity into a big hole & leave it there. Cos in hindsight no other grp has debuted the way EXO did.

Obsession is our most primed example of EXO's versatility and lore cause they can do literally evrything. For albums, I think you should just do all of them cause they are all unique, good and masterpieces in their own way, but I would say either The War, Obsession, Don't Fight The Feeling or EXIST (their latest) cause it's just too good not to.

EXO is emperor of Kpop for a reason, no one can deny capablity of their insane vocal, especialy their live performance is better than the MV, you can hear many genre of music.. actually they are vocal group who can dance well and all is visual.. so your ears and your eyes won't dispointed
I would really appreciate if you react to Super Junior. They debuted in 2006, but still very active to these days. Some of their popular songs are - 'Black Suit', 'Mango', 'Sorry Sorry', 'Bonamana'

3rd gen, fyi. Still active, mostly with solos at this time. One of the biggest groups ever. They debuted one year before BTS so lots of competition between the fans for these two groups

I watched your reaction to ATEEZ's Killing voice and they are my ult group but EXO was my gateway group which made me nosedive into kpop. They also have my favorite Killing voice and some of the best voices in Kpop overall. If you loved ATEEZ on Killing Voice you will def love EXO on there.

Love how you notice the colors! They have a very unique storyline and the red color plays a big part in it! You should do the Exo Guide by Oh Cesar, It explains quickly the storyline but goes in depth of all the members strengths. They are all-rounders. Their lives are phenomenal! Lol, their live performances literally LEGENDARY. 🎉 They are living kpop legends. I honestly feel a (I don't know how to describe correctly...) gap, or something like that... historically. Like from the second part of 4th gen many people are behaving like before that kpop hasn't been existed... And this is just wild. So maybe this is the reason you haven't heard much about them. I'm a kpop fan since 2nd gen (now we are at the beginning of 5th generation of kpop) and until recent years things are building on each other naturally. So we (older fans) know kpop in a historical view. Especially in SM. (EXO's company) Like from BoA to RIIZE things are building on each other. Like EXO hasn't been existed without the success of Super Junior and the vision of Lee Soo Man, and the whole NCT universe hasn't been existed without EXO's revolutionary concept and fantastic music, and exceptionally talented members.
EXO is 3rd Generation along with BTS but they came 1yr before BTS. They could have succeeded like BTS if it wasn't for their agency. They should have treated these men better. It's sad that due to the China conflict, we can't have one of my fav members, Lay who is a killer dancer, in the group anymore. They are very talented but their agency did them DIRTY. Kai is my one of my biases (abs).
I'm a fairly new kpop fan (less than 2 years ago) & I got into kpop because of EXO, even though it was while most of them were in military service at the time. Their songs are still so good. Also I didn't quite fully appreciate how much they had earned their title of Vocal Kings until I branched out into other groups. EXO are (and always will be) my ult group, followed by Ateez & Stray Kids.

As a person who frequents concerts and seen almost all 2nd - 4th gen Kpop artists live, EXO IS FAAAAR BETTER LIVE THAN THE RECORDING. They have the strongest and most stable vocals. This is why, they might be not as popular as the ones being promoted in the west , but definetely they are the most well respected due to their talent and characters.

If u asking where exo is placed, Exo is one of the Biggest kpop group in the industry. Its just that when they started enlisting during pandemic, thats when bts came to the picture, exo on hiatus, bts being active and getting all the recognition nd promotion. Now, they are still really huge despite their lack of appearances, like just mention exo in sk nd everyone goes wild . Members still in military, hence they havent had a complete group comeback
Did u know that in their 12 yrs of being industry, theyve spent 6 yrs only active nd 6 yrs being on hiatus, thats how their company sm kept them in dungeon but YET, other groups couldnt catch up to their popularity lmao. They can go on hiatus now for 2 yrs and yet when they comeback, they gon shake the music industry. They aint titled as Vocal kings of kpop for no reason. 3/9 members of the grouo are literally CEOs of their own label /company, the group being the higest paid idols, the members are models of luxurious brands like dior etc. and are also recognized actors. Lmao they just have everything.
They are the biggest in China as well(since they mostly cater the asian side not western like the others) but yet, exo still very huge in the west (without collaborations with foreign artist$)
I suggest u dive more into exo fron the start till their this date songs, i promise u wont regret knowing their music👍🙌
