    Really wish I had the mile splits from my 76:25 1/2 Marathon PB, but back in 1987 everything was done manually so I just have the official finishing time - I knew at 10 miles I was on for a PB but I was hurting by then and just gave it all I had left through to the finish.

    I’ve been watching this channel for a long time and you’ve become such a different runner such a stronger runner that you deserve everything and I’d really think the I guess you can call your secret sauce was you know really develop yourself for the 10 K and then move that into the half marathon it was like a consistent training with a little bit of a break and but well done congratulations and really really graduations on transforming everything. You’re a powerful runner Andy if this didn’t come out right sorry voice text on the way to work.

    Hey Andy,
    How are you calves?
    I wore the elites for a marathon last sunday and they were harsh on the calves! I am wondering if it is the stiffer plate and speedroll.

    yeah Andy, you did it reasonably,, patience is a key when we runners sometimes need to struggle with on the race. But you managed to have all race under your control, which is the best strategy. I like how you focused on your running form before finish, this is exactly what I'm used to in my races, always try to speed up as much as possible last 400m-1K before finish. Looking forward to seeing your another great races!

    Amazing job and great to see All that hard work pay off. I passed you (going the other way!) at the 9 mile marker as you were about to head back into town and you looked so in control. You're right about the last 2 miles, not great for tiring legs. I had a similar HR experience and pb'd (1:41). I wonder if the drop in temperature made a difference seeing how warm it had been up to race day. Anyway, well done and I look forward to following your next challenge

    Great recap and pleased your fitness is at this level. Appreciate you go out conservative and listen to your body and keep up upping the pace when comfortable but do you think if you knew the runners who’ve entered (around your target pace) you could stick with them from the start. Just wondering if by overtaking and weaving your missing race line adding some extra distance. (21.4 km on your race).

    • @TheFODRunner
      @TheFODRunner  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I was a bit annoyed I didn’t get into the right pack a bit sooner… I think though at best it would of been 73:30… so I’m not too worried. But in a B race at some point, I’ll throw caution to the wind and go hard from the start and see what happens

    So interesting!! Yeah certainly many races are more about the atmosphere and showcasing the town or region than about getting fast times, OR they wanna throw in a real challenge !! The famous Marcialonga in the Dolomites in Italy is 21km downhill but then 5km continuous up to finish... though they do now offer just the 21k if you wanna get a REALLY good time Andy!!😂 Again, BRAVO Andy!!!

      It's definitely a fast course. There is a drag about ¼ mile long to the finish, but otherwise its pretty flat. There's plenty of support as it's a 2 lap course around the city centre.
