FAQ: (Questions that are asked to me OFTEN, will answer here)
Q: Why is the video in TWO Parts?
A: Copyright reasons. I can show more of the movie to you guys within multiple parts. Depending on the movie I might do THREE parts or sometimes just ONE.
Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if TH-cam denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

Yay, I get to mention my favorite fact about this movie: When they were in pre-production, director Marcus Nispel had to hire a cinematographer. So he went to a colleague with whom he had worked on TV commercials over the years, Daniel C. Pearl, and asked, "Would you like to shoot the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre with me?" To which Pearl replied, "Why not...I shot the original!" Nispel had no idea that the man he'd worked with before was cinematographer of the original classic Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Another fun fact is that when they made the trailer for this film, they brought back the same voice-over announcer who did the trailer for the original film, an actor named John Larroquette. Except when he had done the original trailer in 1974 he was a nobody, but by 2003 he had been a pretty big star for years (seriously, check his IMDB).

I was just days from turning 13-years-old, and my mother took my brother and I to the movies one day after school on a Friday. She begrudgingly let us choose this movie, and from then to this day I still hold it up as one of the better film remakes, generally speaking. (My stepdad had a wonderful dark sense of humor, and we used to pretend our hands were chainsaws and chop him up, precisely because of the the original film; that's why my mother knew it would be a fitting movie for us.)

The sheriff is played by the late R. Lee Ermy, whose breakout role as Gunny Sgt. Hartman in 1987's "Full Metal Jacket" earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He played the meanest Sgt. ever, a performance inspired by his own military career. "Full Metal Jacket" is one of those films you must see before you kick the proverbial bucket.

The sheriff was an actual drill instructor before he became an actor & played one in Full Metal Jacket, strongly recommend if you haven't seen it yet. FMJ also was directed by Kubrick (The Shining). All his lines as the instructor were improvised & his Sherrif is one of my favorite villians. Try Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning. It heavily focuses on the Hewitt clan & is worth a glance just for that. Fantastic reaction. 11/10. Normally it's 10/10 but watching your killer instincts trigger on that spider 5 minutes in got us all pretty hot n' bothered. Give Geo a pat for us.

In the original script, the ending was much bleaker. Erin was actually pregnant, and the finale in the meat packing plant, instead of having a one-on-one fight with Leatherface, she simply hides there overnight. She goes into labor and gives birth as the sun comes up the next morning. The baby's crying ends up leading Leatherface to her and the script ends with Leatherface standing over her and revving his chainsaw, leaving her ultimate fate unknown

    • @duvall5jd
      @duvall5jd 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

Before having watched the video: I would love to see a reaction to the follow up "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)" which got less great reviews, but it definitely delivers on what it tries to be. It feels very 2006 with the Michael Bay look and everything but with how serious it still all plays (the story and characters) you can look past that. No need to watch the 2013 or 2017 movie after that.

I like the original better, but this is definitely one of the best remakes of an iconic horror film, it brought Leatherface back in a way that genuinely terrified a new generation. I can enjoy this one and appreciate it. I was 9 almost 10 when this movie came out and I saw the part where Leatherface comes through the door with the chainsaw, that was the shit nightmares are made of.

I remember her pulling out the revolver but not the result holy crap... how did the first part make a larger impression? Lol. Revolver.. reminds me of "the deer hunter" (if you never get around to it, its ok, idk if you are taking requests still, i know i pre-maturely requested it, just letting you know, no sweat). This movie was pretty shocking to me, my kind of horror

Trust me, I want to watch the deer hunter but it didn't get many votes on the polls I did :( I will surely get around to it at some point though

It's a controversial opinion, but for me, this one is the best of them all - even better than the original.

I agree about the Friday the 13th remake. I enjoyed this one but didn't like the story changes with the family being different but that's not a deal breaker. I think this one succeeded with modern special effects and better acting, but failed on atmosphere and generating scares based on implied violence. 2003 seemed to forget that they were depraved cannibals, not just killers. 1974 drove that point home where the family hunts people and treats them like human livestock. That said, i think you've seen the best of what this franchise has to offer. If you want to go further, id recommend the 2006 prequel to this "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning" and also TCM 3. Cheers!

This was inspired by the real killer Ed Gein other movies inspired by him are
Psycho. Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) takes Gein's motherly obsession to the big screen. ...
    Texas Chainsaw Massacre. ...
The Silence of the Lambs. ...
    Three On A Meathook. ...
    Deranged. ...
Ed Gein (In The Light Of The Moon) ...
    House of 1000 Corpses/ The Devil's Rejects.
Ed Gein skinned people ande lamps out of their skin. There's a true bio about him in youtube and it's very interesting . Also huge inspire by Psycho about the relationship with his mother. Highly recommend watching the bio.

I am with you in liking it more than the original. Mainly because I never watched the original until I was older and didnt find it scary. This one creeped me out and was better acted.
