    Excellent review, very well done.
I have owned the Swarovski SLC HD 8 x 56 for about a year and a half, comparing them to the Swarovski EL‘s that I currently own ( 8.5x42 & 10x50) I really prefer the 8 x 56 SLC. Yes they are a bit heavier, though the view is outstanding, & i haven’t found a single set of binoculars that compares….even the mighty NL pure fell short of my expectations, a very good glass indeed, though here is how i would compare the two….looking through the NL is like looking at a 42 inch TV in 4K…..looking through the 8X56SLC is like watching the same movie on a 70” 4K.

"Only for hunting, too heavy to carry around." We hunt in different terrain! Hunting in my area in the world means hiking for hours on end, sometimes for days and it always involves mountains. It'd be interesting to be able to just wander up to a nice blind like that.
Thanks for the video anyway! :-)

I consider 5mm and larger exit pupil as having good low light performance.
One important thing to mention is that 7mm eye pupil is what a young person has. With higher age the max dilated eye pupil decreases. At mid age between 5 and 6mm is usual max size, and even older it can be only 4mm.
The maximum dilation is individual though, but if you are 50+ you maybe not make use of the capacity of a 7x50 or 8x56. The risk is then that you effectively use a 7x35 or 8x40 but carry around unnecessary weight and size. 7x42 or 8x42 then can be a better option.
And I can tell that 7x42 and 8x42 of high class is good in dim conditions.

What about the Bresser Pirsch ED 8x56 in the prize class up to 500€? It's made in Japan with magnesium housing and filled with argon! I'd prefer it over your picks! ;)
You also should have mentioned that there is one exception to the 8x56 (or 7x50) your pick of the Zeiss Victory HT 8x54! xD

How about Leica Ultravid HD Plus 8x50? How much image quality are you compromising when compared to a Swaro Slc 8x56 while saving some weight in a more compact configuration?

All you need for low light is either a 7x50 Ross Bino Prism No.5 or a ZOMZ 7x50.

Interesting the Blaser is the most expensive low light on your site, but it is not the top pick and infact not even a draw between the swaro and zeiss

I went with Kowa on my 80* spotting scope. I noticed a yellowish tint with the Zeiss. I have two pairs of Kowa Binoculars I really like also. Was Kowa in any of the tests ?

Exactly. It’s hard to escape this hunter garbage though if you just want to buy binoculars. Pretty much every brand also sells rifle scopes.
