Wendy has one of the prettiest tones in K-pop. I could listen to her all day long. She has only 12 songs solos, and every bit of these are so good just because of her voice.

I have said this'll before. Garam's vocal tone was the only one who was able to match with Chaewon's. She had a soft and light voice that matched Chaewon's bright and light voice (Sour Grapes), yet it contratsed well with Yunjin's most chesty voice (Blue Flame). Garam's voice not being there makes a really unbalanced group sound. You got Chaewon and them everyone else whose voices are more chesty, throaty, or warm.
Tell that to a specific ktuber who ranked Liz above Sullyoon, Winter, Goeun, and Kyujin. Who said Pharita is the best belter in Baemon and who also called Jihyo overrated as a vocalist (said no one ever). Like, please don't piss me off.
As a Wendy bias I totally understand your opinion. Vocal tone is like a trademark noone else could easily copy and people just have their own preference.
Honestly I was happy Sullyoon got the main high note of Dice (though Lily finishes it but she never does it live) cuz that way we got to hear Sullyoon belt ofc and Lily didn’t take everything for once (I’m still waiting for a Haewon high note in their next title track tbh, her voice is one of the best in Kpop 😻)
I think people dont undertand the difference between vocal techique and vocal tone, a singer could have a excellent techique and you could still not like her/his voice. But that's because you don't like their vocal tone, and FOR ME, vocal tone is what makes you prefer one singer over another. About the high notes, I agree, I usually see a lot of people prasing an obviously strainned high note, and sometimes vocalist like rami or my girl ningning get said that they make their high notes sound light or that they avoid beltting, bro its a thousand times better to sound light, nasal or choose a different technique rather than strainned and hurt your vocal chords.

I know its all personal opinions, so I'm just gonna share mine too about Wendy. I could listen to that woman sing everyday for the rest of my life. Her voice is so versatile and tone is so delicious.😩 she can be smooth and rich like dark chocolate, crystal clear and flowly like water, bright and poppy like popping candy, and powerful and piercing like explosives. And I could go on. I kinda disagree with this. Winter DOES have a chestier mix when it comes to belting, but she can quite decently sustain those notes( I think her maintaining that sharp quality with the chestiness is what generally causes her to have tension in her voice). Ningning has a headier mix, which doesn't carry as much power as winter, but she still CAN belt. There's way too much of an emphasis on high notes as if it's the pinnacle of vocal abilities, when most of the time it's given to people who can't sustain those notes well and ends up causing harm to their voice Haewon does belt at times( dice for eg), but she's mainly the all rounder that ties nmixx together 3.I dont think Lily actually has much of an issue with the live singing. I think the high notes in nmixx's discography are decently balanced, and the notes aren't too taxing to do consistently. Belle however, I completely agree with. She's the one carrying 90% of the vocals in their songs and it's way too much to have to have a high note in every single song, plus have the runs and the falsetto immediately afterwards.(Glad S2 lightened the load with their newest comeback) 4. highnotes are overrated periodtt, especially how jyp throws insane high notes to twice and itzy when they literally cant handle it, you can clearly see the struggle on all their live performances it just breaks my heart
I dont think many people know that handmic can be easily manipulated as well.. with autotune, pitch correction, volume positioning, and many, that's why handheld mic that has been customized is usually more expensive than others.
