Wow. I’m just reflecting back on all of the times I’ve listened to this song. This song has carried me through the lowest and darkest parts of my life in the past couple of years, and also the happiest and highest parts. This song should be celebrated for the rest of time.
Man, you literally saved my life. My life has been nothing but trauma and addiction and pain and mental health issues obviously. And my gf aged out of foster care, enough said. We struggle just to stay alive for real. And you, you have helped me heal beyond understanding. Your songs break me right down to my soul. But the thing about breaking is that you have to if you ever expect to overcome. And that’s what it’s all about, overcoming, against all odds. Thank you from my heart for your music. It matters so much. You my friend are a gift from god in my eyes. I know I wouldn’t be here now if it weren’t for your music. Might sound a bit over the top to say that but it is the absolute truth. We need you. I am a poet. People have real emotional reactions to my poems. Tears and goosebumps I’ve been told. But I don’t hold a candle to your beautiful poetic art.

This guy, you Evan are something that does not come along that often. What your music is saying...I feel it. I wish you a long and happy life making your music. And if you’ve noticed an increase in views for the newest version of the song “The Devil, God and Me” it’s because I watch/listen to it everyday. The Gretsch and your voice in that version really make that song stick out. Amazing performance !!!
I know how important it is for a singer/songwriter to perform originals, I have a best friend who is currently trying to get a band together and get on the road, he has a ton of originals, and even recorded one of my songs. But I have a question for you, with your voice, wich is awesome by the way, have you ever covered any Roy Orbison songs? Not many people out there I would want to hear do some of his stuff, but I believe you could knock it out of the park!
