*Note - If you have it, put some anti seize compound on the exhaust studs before fitting the nuts.

Hi Mike, I love your videos on the LM 1000. I’ve bought one which needs a fair bit of work. Can I please seek your advice on the front forks air balance pipe which has been cut off on this pipe. I’d like to find a replacement balance pipe or am I just better off fitting another valve. Any advice greatly welcomed. Thanks Steve

Never seen the loosen it a tad before retorque before. New one on me. You guys are fortunate you don't run the T140 750 Meriden Triumph twin with a 10 stud Klingerite head gasket. It gets real monotonous on the 3rd or 4th retorque. And they need it too...
Regards, subscriber, Triumph and Guzzi owner. Guess which one needs less maintenance?...

Personally, I'd slacken all first and then re-torque, not individually. Don't know then ins and outs but just the way I was taught in the Navy, probably to relieve any stress. Also, I'd have run it for a couple hundred K's first. One tip, moisten those compressed cardboard gaskets with a smear of engine oil to prevent them sticking solid on disassembly.

There are so many different views on this. It's like discussing politics, religion or engine oils!

@@MikesMachines LOL - true! Just what I was taught professionally as a Marine Engineering Artificer as an Apprentice. But it did apply to Paxman Ventura Diesels, just slightly larger than a Guzzi LOL!
