It’s so nice to see a young lad like you who is doing something positive with his life rather than getting involved with the troublemakers you are one of the few and it’s so nice to see keep it up young man and one day you’ll make a fantastic pilot and captain
Enjoyed this video, and I genuinely hope you ever continue producing content about your flying career! I really like your simple humble vlog style of your videos without the fancy music, fast cuts, or just the pretentious over glamorisation of this profession!
L3 is a great choice, I went to l3 great flight school in my opinion … they have a lovely flight school in US which after EXAMS you come fly part of training there …. Enjoy it
Awesome video! I used to dislike the forced landing practice. I had trouble always trying to decide on a field! Anyway I did have a REAL forced landing in a piper Warrior while I was practicing stalls. The throttle cable stuck and I had no power. So I had to execute a forced landing in a paddock. It went ok, but I forgot to retract the flaps, so came in fast and broke the nose wheel. But I remembered all the other safety checks, door adjust, change tanks, carby heat on, mayday call, location info to flight service, turn off power and tanks prior to touch down.. but flaps. I forgot. Anyway I walked away from it!
Nice edit. I always forget to make videos of my flights, but when I see content like this, I just relive the experience and don't regret making my own vlog. So thanks for posting. Happy landings 🙂
Very informative video, just passed my MEIR after getting my cpl done in april, looking to apply to the airlines around christmas so this is all good information for the future.
Hey Oli. I love your content and it is so helpful to me as an aspiring pilot. Thank you so much. I’m curious about your experience with Leading Edge. It seems like a great school, but I was wondering how it works exactly. Thanks!
Hi Oli, is there any theory aspect to this check? Like a systems exam or something? Do you need to pay for the proficiency checks or does the airline cover that? Thanks.
Great video! Question from a B737 pilot, when you did the scenario with the captain continuing to flaire causing a tailstrike, would your stick input have priority over his so you'd lower the nose and prevent the strike? Cheers
Not an A320 pilot yet but know a bit about how it works. You would have to press the priority side button for that to happen. If you didn’t press that the aircraft computers will just add up and average the inputs. So, if Oli where to push full down stick then nothing would happen. Could I ask u for some tips as well
Hey Oli, I hope you’re doing well! I have a flight coming up from Zakynthos, Greece to Copenhagen with JetTime Airlines on a Boeing 737. I wanted to ask, as a pilot, do you think there’s anything I should be worried about on this flight? I know flying is generally safe, but it would be great to get your expert opinion. Thanks a lot!
I’m not a pilot, but I would not worry. Boeing is still not the best with quality issues- but the B737 Max crashes due to MCAS hopefully will not very happen again. I wouldn’t be scared of flying boeing just yet. Be cautious, and listen to the saftey briefing slightly more than Airbus, BUT STILL LISTEN TO AIRBUS. I’m sure nothing will event, but there is always a chance in every aircraft. The main thing is: listen to the crew.
Quick question, I’m 28 and I’ve decided to go for it! I’m not wasting my life no more! What education do I need to become a pilot? Is there minimum requirements? I live in UK :)
I’m not 100% but I believe it’s just 6 GCSEs education wise. Best thing to do is go to Pilot Careers Live, there you can speak to flight schools. Best of luck!
Yes mate new video cheers. I was wondering how is works after you finish at leading edge. You have the graduate employment course but how is it to get a job after that? I cant find it in any of your videos. (But omg do I love watching them haha) . How did you manage to get a job with lauda so early? I’m also wondering what luggage you use? Cheers mate! (Congrats on 13k!)
This depends on the flight school, but usually and at leading edge, no. You usually don’t even need A levels, and you can choose your subjects- it doesn’t have to be maths and physics, although oli did say to me that it helps!

Hi oli this might be a big ask but basically I’m 13 turning 14 in a few months and my dream is to become a pilot. I’ve watched pretty Mitch all of your videos and they have massively helped. The only thing stopping me becoming a pilot is the cost for flight school. I was wandering wether it would be ok if you did a video on how to finance and pay for flight school. Or if not I would love to meet you one day and have an in-depth speed about aviation.(don’t worry if not) please reply to this comment. Ps you’re videos are honestly the best I’ve ever seen and they have crazily helped me. Many thanks from Theo 👍👏
Hi Theo. Of course, I’m not Oli and I’m the exact same as you, including age, except from the finance part. Im fortunate enough to not worry about that. However, I can definitely help you. Firstly I’m just going to ask a few questions so I know what to base my knowledge off. Do you want to be a pilot/train in the uk Are you planning to do a levels or university Do you know what flight school you are looking at? Most of my knowledge is based of Leading Edge aviation, where oli went. That being said, I can still help for other flight schools. If you coule get back to me soon so I can help. Jack

EK mandates uniform for Sims. I think a few stretched the rules on casual and the big hammer came down. Excellent video - all the best!
EK as in emirates? I know some airlines require uniform for sims, but my one doesn’t 👍🏼
