First game with them is in Philly which is the one we usually win IF we beat them. Dallas has been an absolute shitshow for us the past few years. That said, that is usually because of Zeke who is no longer with Dallas. When we stop their run game and force them to rely entirely on passing we tend to fair much better against them. With how we shut down the run I think we may have the advantage heading into that game. Dallas is good at forcing turnovers so if we can minimize those against them we will more than likely win.
I don't believe he truly ever had an elite skillet. The Jalen Hurts that you're seeing now and the Jalen Hurts you saw his first two years in the NFL are what you get with him. Last season he largely benefited from their system and he is in a perfect position with the best protection in the NFL as well as two high caliber playmakers at WR and a good tight end with a top 5 defense. He's never had a big time arm, he's been inconsistent throwing downfield, he's not super accurate, he's not great at going through his progressions and making the right reads. He is an above average passer in an incredibly good system and he's an amazing leader.

With his anticipation routes, why does it always seem Hurts overthrows Smith and hits Brown in the numbers? I know I know, Smitty is a little guy, but it's not a big height difference, and right in the numbers vs jump ball is a big difference. It's a new OC. Last year was his second year with Steichen as OC (who was a better OC, too). It takes time to get everyone in rhythm and be able to trust the receivers to be exactly where they're supposed to be. I think it will come. I'm not ready to say Hurts has regressed from last year. It's not only a new OC in Philly but a first time OC. And after Hurts's and the Eagles' break out year last year, teams are preparing for them defensively much better this year (not too mention the tougher schedule). Yes, Hurts is holding the ball a little too long at times, but I think that's a symptom of some other things and am not ready to say it's just Hurts is less good than he was. (Also, you're comparing "towards the end of 2022" to the first 7 weeks of 2023).

I thought he was great. But it’s just good coaching o line and supporting cast. He’s kind of like fields, makes great plays but a good bit of bad ones. But still way better than Fields.
