This is poorly done, Vietnam of all states would feel bittersweet for one. The USA is the only Counter to China in the region hence why relations are currently fairly warm.
Also pretty certain we are on good business terms and pretty open to travel between the two because of how many vietnamese live in the states and have a place back in Vietnam

It does not meant the two nations are “allied” but without the US countering China, Vietnam would surely be at risk to Chinese aggression….and vice versa assuming Vietnam did something against US interests *and* China was not a concern.
