    That United fan doesn’t seem to understand the difference in positions of power. There is a massive difference between a player having a go at a ref in the locker room to his teammates and a referee, who has all the power and authority to do whatever he likes on a pitch, clearly having a personal bias towards a club that he is presiding over

    • @drep9028
      @drep9028 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The difference in positions of power is not the key here. It's the fact that both are human beings. You really think a human being that surffers aggression is not going to dislike it or form an unfavorable opinion of the aggressor? His biggest downfall was saying it on camera. Off camera, he and every ref has a right to say their opinion of any player, club or manager that they please. Doesn't mean they can't do their jobs

    • @corvus2512
      @corvus2512 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      @@drep9028 I’m not saying a human being can’t have human emotions, I’m saying there’s a difference between a player slagging a ref off and a ref slagging a club off, one has no power to effect the match outside of his footballing ability, the other is in a position of power and authority and if he wanted to to can do whatever he wants. Coates is allowed to feel how he feels but to say it on video is unacceptable, refs have to be professional and at least maintain the appearance of impartiality, he failed to do that

    If they don't sack him for his xenophobic language, then the PGMOL are literally saying they don't fully stand up against zero tolerance with racism and any form of discrimination.
    You can try downplay the part of which his mate also singles out Scousers, using "we" hate them, but this is also discrimination.
    The fact also that he attempted to lie about it being fake and only owning up once proven it wasn't, he still went on to be dishonest saying ok it was me but I can't remember saying it. It is totally irrelevant if he remembers saying it or not, its clearly how he feels about Germans, Klopp and Scousers or the topic would not of been brought up by his mate.
    He cannot hold a position of power where he can use his hatred to potentially determine the outcome of games, titles, cup finals.
    They haven't even publicly apologised to German's, Klopp, Liverpool FC, Scousers. As soon as they knew it wasn't a fake video, he should of been suspended and an apology to everyone involved along with assurances that they do not condone any of this and that they will deal with this appropriately by going through their correct procedures to do this.

    The PGMOL knew Coote had these views about Liverpool and didn’t care because they probably shared his views. My guess is they’re probably annoyed they’re going to be forced to punish Coote for this which is why all their friends in the media are peddling the same horseshit trying to downplay it.
    My guess is they’ll wait till it all dies down then reinstate David Coote.

I think he can probably ref in a different country but not in England. Yes i am a Liverpool fan.. if he were talking about another team i would have the same opinion. Talk about the villa game he basic ignored salah being pulled by the shirt at least three times before he gave the yellow card for it when it was doing to another player so to say he didn't give the pen was helping Liverpool is a moth point.

Being videoed speaking of your hatred for a team as a referee is going to immediately bring your credibility to ref any competion their involved in into question. Jamie caragher isnt in a position of authority to effect man u matches. Pundits are accused of bias all the time and are openly biased and thays fine because they dont effect the games being played. Spitting at someone doesent bring your credibility as a pundit into question.
