Thank you Mr Weatherford for your warm love to Mongolian people and for your many great works about our history and tradition and its legacy to the world. We Mongolians will forever be grateful for your great contribution in promoting Mongolia worldwide and also for your help and generosity towards the education of Mongolian youth today.
I share Mr. Weatherfords love for Mongolia and giving me so much information of Mongolian history and culture. As an American .....I too believe Mongolia has a bright future.
Jack Weatherford, who is a great historian and one of the greatest scholar studying Mongolian history, Mongolian culture and Mongolians. And he funds money and revenue collected by selling his books (Genghis Khan and the Making of Modern world; Genghis Khan and Queens) for youth Mongolian education, a researches of mongolian history and mongolian culture. What a great and inspirational person who Jack Weatherford is !!! I think that we respect and appreciate to him and what he has done for us!
Jack Weatherford - the ultimate writer/historian/anthropologist who connected the dots of human history, painstakingly and patiently experiencing and researching even the minutia of things. You opened a whole new world for me and showed me how "we are all connected to each other, in a circle, in a hoop that never ends". I long to see the Eternal Blue Skies of Burkhan Khaldun, the sacred heart of the Mongol nation someday. May your prolific pen write more inspiring stories about humanity.
Genghis Khan - my hero and inspiration for fairness, justice and deep spirituality. The Eternal Blue Skies of Burkhan Khaldun watched, guided and blessed you for you are a chosen son, born of hardships, betrayal and neglect except by Hoelun, your mother. You created a civilization so advanced, the ever-loving Spirit must have given you the gifts which you used in a most constructive manner, I am in awe of your accomplishments in spite of the obstacles you encountered during your life.
Thanks for posting this. Jack Weatherford's understanding and love of Mongolian people is admirable. But, of course, the spirit of Genghis Khan and his accomplishments would inspire anybody, Mongolian or non-Mongolian (like me) alike.
I would suggest reading Rene Grousset's book The Conqueror of the World. His writing brings in another dimension, and I think Jack W. may have been heavily influenced by his biography of Chingiss Khan. Of course Jack brings The Great Khan's contributions to the fore splendidly!
