I tried your first guide (difficult), then I followed your second one (successful), but was given a grey screen error whenever I plugged the device back in. Now, I followed this guide and it was super simple! Even uninstalling the old drivers from the previous attempts was intuitive and clearly defined in Terbium! Can't wait for the DeskThing app tutorial. Great Work!

my Spotify car thing is still working and ive gotten the discontinued announcement any ideas how all i did was start the process of this and failed plugged it in an it was working again
I get an error saying "Failed to execute 'open' on 'USBDevice': Access denied." edit: just had to uninstall the drivers a bunch of times. Unplugging and plugging back in. A restarting my laptop and it finally worked.
I've tried different cords, different computers, different locations of where I plug the cord and cannot get into burn mode. Please help! Windows setup.

same thing happened to me, all you have to do is unplug it, plug it back in and then put in into the flash mode then plug it back in. After you do that just refresh the website just in case then press connect and it should work from there

Showing up under “Other Devices” should be fine It showed up under the universal bus because I had it connected to a Powered USB hub - so if your configuration is different, it’ll prolly be under a different tab

had some trouble booting in to flashing mode used a type c to type c and the port on the back of my motherboard (gen 3.2 i think) red on inside and it worked
I was able to get the usb driver installed correctly. when i go to terbium i click done, GX Chip shows up and i click connect. But now im just stuck on "Booting the Car Thing into burn mode... with the loading animation for like an hour. i tried redoing everything and im still having the issue. I saw some other people stuck on booting into burn i think but no suggestions on how to fix.

I’d be interested as to what the logs say (open devtools and it should be in the console) In the meantime, try a new cable/port or a powered USB hub Also maybe try uninstalling all of the drivers again and then loading the winUSB one Finally, is the screen off? been trying to remove the original "worldcup" driver and replacing it with the new driver howver no matter how hard i try the driver keeps reverting back to world cup. any thoughts on this?
Huh that's weird We could get lucky here though. Make sure you're checking the "Uninstall driver from device" in the popup dialogue when you remove it. It's a pretty easy thing to miss and would be the reason why you cant remove it Alternatively, I'm pretty sure you can click 'Uninstall Device" on the first right click menu - but I dont know for certain if that will do it

This may be a bit much for just a youtube comment A few things to try in the meantime - New cables - Powered USB hub (especially if on AMD) - Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers (make sure it gets to the point of "Unknown Device" before reinstalling drivers) - A different browser (i.e. try using just flat Google Chrome)
im still confused on how to get desk thing to boot on my car thing. ThingLabs logo pops up when I plug it in, but then it boots straight into spotify, and I can't seem to figure out how to get Desk Thing to boot. Any tips or where I can find an already published tutorial would be so helpful. Thanks!

i am not able to get into burn mode for some reason. UPDATE: The OG cable didn't work, used another. also, NOT ALL BROWSERS WORK, i use arc normally and it wasn't working, so i downloaded chrome and it worked. Im on MAC
There was apparently an issue with terbium that was keeping the car thing from exiting burn mode after restarting it. They just fixed it about 20 minutes ago so give it another try
make sure its plugged in first, hold the 1st and 4th button, while still holding them down unplug the car thing, still holding the buttons down plug it back in, wait a few seconds then you can let go

I did everything for MacOS. The bootup had ThingsLab, but when I scan the QR code to connect my phone it goes to the Spotify Car Thing Discountinued.

Same as others - It boots up again in ThingsLab Logo & then the CarThing is discontinued.

Sounds like it may be a driver issue
Can you try uninstalling all of your drivers and then reinstalling WinUSB?

It just gets stuck on terbium for me. Recognizes the device but wont load anything past that. And then freezes my computer.
