I'm English and have been an Elvis fan since the age of 3 years old in 1968. I've been to Graceland several times over. Elvis is truly unsurpassed, noone compares,it is not possible. He changed not only music but also the culture of America in the 1950's. A pure God given talent and also a man of great compassion for others. I had the privilege of standing on the very spot he stood as he recorded this incredible song in 1969 at American Sound Studios in Memphis. That was in August 1987, just to let you know the floor was wooden floorboards. This is my favourite Elvis song, his Memphis sessions of 1969 are a musical masterpiece.
@asurlybarber3620 A small correction. It was Elvis final nr 1 hit in the USA Billboard top 100 anno 1969 but not in the rest of the world. For ex in 1970 Elvis had a nr 1 in UK with The wonder of you, in Belgium he had a nr 1 hit with Burning Love and even in 1974 with My Boy. And even with his death Way Down was also a nr 1 in UK. To be honest I like all his songs because Elvis is the most versatile singer ever but if people ask me what song makes me really crazy then I answer Jailhouse rock.
My Dad would always play this when we go on car rides together and I never appreciated it as much as I do now at the age of 30. Such an amazing song. Every time I listen to it, he crosses my mind. He's going strong at 70, hope he continues to live a meaningful life 🙏🖤

Elvis has been a part of my life since the 1963 when I was a teenager. To this day I've been a fan. Undoubtedly Elvis is the undisputed King of rock. The more I listen to him ,the more I am convinced. And it's 2024.
I’m 72 years old and I remember seeing Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show on TV. Because of his “gyrations” he was only shown from the waist up. I had no idea what he would eventually become. I am so thankful that I had a chance to see his movies and hear his music. He is the King of music and much more. Rest in Peace, Mr. Presley. You left us way too soon but you are singing for God now.🙏

This is probably my favorite Elvis Presley song. It is a masterpiece in all its splendor. Rock and Soul in the same song. Romantic but at the same time danceable. The quality of artists that existed before is incredible. Nowadays there are very good artists but I think we will never see an artist of a caliber like this again.
Im listening to Elvis’s music right now and i found myself bawling because of his passing which has been a long time already. He was such a special man.
I remember his death in 1977 like it was yesterday, even though I was only 9 years old. Still such a tragedy. I'm just glad Lisa got to see the movie before the jab took her. Elvis had a short sweet dating experience with one, who he sincerely loved. She ended up dating Jerry Schilling and marrying him in '82...at Graceland with Lisa as flower girl.
This song reminds me of my father also. When I was a kid I would go on my father's delivery job on weekends. This was in the early 80s. This song seemed to play every time I was in the car with him. So now whenever I hear it, it reminds me of him.
I love it at the end where the music gets softer and then loud again. By the way, does anyone know where this song is from (I know Elvis usually didn't write his own songs)? Thank you

It was already old when Elvis Pressley first sung it, being written by Jean-Paul-Egide Martini in, would you believe, 1784, and called ' Plaisire d'Amour ' The English lyrics , written much more recently, are by Haly Reinhart.

RIP To Elvis Presley This Song Is Awesome
On August 16 1977 everything changed , the man died , but the legend lives on 😮!!
Elvis got to poke on a fourteen year old?
There is only, one king, elvis. Such a talented singer, performer. We miss you elvis.❤
He was brilliant.... no two ways about it...
Good music never dies.
Damn straight the garbage of today will be dead in ten years.
+Shinobi V 101 it dies in a few months to a year!
XxDartSwingerxX Your right I was cutting this new garbage to much slack.
+Shinobi V 101 i thought it died

Why is it the older I get the more I just LOVE and REALLY FEEL his pain in this song?? This song has some really spooky POWER in it.
It's because your getting wiser

+Jack Handy: I know. I've never been in a situation like the one described in the song, but, I'm tearing up from it.
No just the truth listen closely and pay attention
Elvis has been a part of my life since the 1963 when I was a teenager. To this day I've been a fan. Undoubtedly Elvis is the undisputed King of rock. The more I listen to him ,the more I am convinced. And it's 2024.
I’m 72 years old and I remember seeing Elvis on the Ed Sullivan show on TV. Because of his “gyrations” he was only shown from the waist up. I had no idea what he would eventually become. I am so thankful that I had a chance to see his movies and hear his music. He is the King of music and much more. Rest in Peace, Mr. Presley. You left us way too soon but you are singing for God now.🙏
Wishing you good health and always having joy in music
Im 72 and I remember brother, take us back.
@@freeyourmindtc Seems like it was not so long ago.
Eu assisti quase todos os filmes dele e amei todos.
Essa música é a que mais amo ouvir.
Eterno Elvis Presley!
I remember when Ed Sullivan said he couldn’t come back and then America spoke and Ed Sullivan brought him back
This gem is as close to a perfect pop song as you can get. Thank you so much Elvis and all others who made this unforgettable song.

Elvis voice is amazing and awesome every time he sings he’s the gift from gods hands and blessing he’s sings from inside his heart and shares it with the world 🤩
Absolutely perfect. The music, the beat, the voice. the lyrics, the soul. It just doesn't get any better. So far ahead of his time. He left here way too young.
Brightest stars burn out the quickest sadly 😞
I totally agree!!!!😍😍😍😍
The King!!!! Forever the best!!!!!!!!
Theres only one
I wish I lived when Elvis was alive. His music lives on though...
I lived when Elvis was alive. I had 14 years old when this song. My mind and my heart move with this song every time I listen to it.
I was 10 years old when this song came out
Hello Pretty 💖

I love listening to his music, it's so calming to me, hearing his voice is euphoric!
So what he made a couple of hits? He was a pedophile. He fucked and married a 14 year old, y’all quick to forget.
Hey Elvis
Whats shakin??!!! Love this song. Haven't listened to this beautiful man for awhile. Feels good. The voice & passion. ❤

What a set of chops
enough said!!!
I'm watching "this is Elvis" on TCM NOW. HIS MOVIES ARE PLAYING ALL DAY. WHAT MEMORIES!!!!! I COULD LISTEN TO HIM SING ALL DAY. it never gets old ❤️❤️❤️
Either Elvis or Michael Jackson for me. Anyone else is an insult to the other two. No one else comes close. Not even The Beatles for me.
My Dad was based in Germany. He was in the same barrick with Elvis. Rest in Heaven Dad and Elvis 🙏❤️🌹💯
that's when Elvis met Priscilla from back in Germany
@@jamievincent4829 UNFORTUNATELY!! Then forced to marry her.
The ONLY blessing was Lisa Marie.
@@Gigi1111LaynaI don't believe Elvis ever said he was forced to marry Priscilla. No one could make him do anything that he didn't want to do. If he had promised to marry her, then promises can be broken. No one had a hold over him. He didn't do anything illegal. His fans would definitely stand with him that's all he needed.
I was stationed there too. I like my time in Ray Barracks 2/67 Armor 🙏🏻 your Father.

His vocals and the background vocalists are freaking incredible! Also, the music and lyrics.
Who hasn't felt this song sometime in their life. It's very heartfelt and very real. Elvis you will always be the king of Rock and Roll !

That's awesome!
did your grandparents ever watch elvis live??
You write like a 12 year old though

Elvis in the movie: *I'm going to be 40 soon... and no one will remember me.*
My dear Elvis... we are in 2022 and we still remember you. We will always remember you. Thank you so much for giving us your amazing musics.
🥲💜
So ironic that's said in a movie 45 years after his death
I wasn't even born when he was alive and I'm a fan he will live on for eternity
who is justin bieber ..lmao
Yesss🥰
This is probably my favorite Elvis Presley song. It is a masterpiece in all its splendor. Rock and Soul in the same song. Romantic but at the same time danceable. The quality of artists that existed before is incredible. Nowadays there are very good artists but I think we will never see an artist of a caliber like this again.
the king he was and still is awesome

Im listening to Elvis’s music right now and i found myself bawling because of his passing which has been a long time already. He was such a special man.
Elvis lives on as long as he is remember for his music talents And for defending our country

I remember his death in 1977 like it was yesterday, even though I was only 9 years old.
Still such a tragedy. I'm just glad Lisa got to see the movie before the jab took her.
She said she was so moved by it & Austin's performance it took her a week just to digest the experience.
RIP Elvis & Lisa Marie.
This song is a perfect example of why he will always be THE KING
A king is always a king.... #evergreen.

SOA true, I miss him dearly
My favorite Elvis song
The backup vocals are amazing and make the song so great.
In his performance at Las Vegas in 1973, Elvis has such a cute moment with the backup vocalists
Definitely adds another dimension.
Agree
Pretty sure its the sweet inspirations. Whitney Houstons mother was one of them if im not mistaken.
Elvis had a short sweet dating experience with one, who he sincerely loved. She ended up dating Jerry Schilling and marrying him in '82...at Graceland with Lisa as flower girl.
These. Songs. Are. Here. To. Stay. Forever.
This song used to be my father's ring tone, brings a lot of memories... miss you

This song reminds me of my father also. When I was a kid I would go on my father's delivery job on weekends. This was in the early 80s. This song seemed to play every time I was in the car with him. So now whenever I hear it, it reminds me of him.
Elvis will always be the King living forever, no one will ever take his place!

my all-time favorite Elvis song. Period.
I can't pick just one....

And mine
I love it at the end where the music gets softer and then loud again.
By the way, does anyone know where this song is from (I know Elvis usually didn't write his own songs)?
Thank you
Voz inimitável. Jamais ouviremos tal perfeição. Que saudades de minha juventude, ainda digo que tiro meu chapéu para o TH-cam, por nos presentear com essa maravilha. Hoje à 22/05/22.
My all time favourite Elvis song. It never gets old.
It was already old when Elvis Pressley first sung it, being written by Jean-Paul-Egide Martini in, would you believe, 1784, and called ' Plaisire d'Amour ' The English lyrics , written much more recently, are by Haly Reinhart.
Elvis Presley could sing any song that is why he's the king
One of the greatest songs ever. The melody, the voice, the backup singers.
