Us ravens fans can’t be too mad , we weren’t supposed to be here , at 4-5 we put Lamar in to just let him develop , he led us to the playoffs and yes , bad game vs the Chargers, but Marty had bad play calling and the O line didn’t block well , Lamar is our future , we drafted him knowing what we were getting , and I think the fourth quarter proved some things about Lamar , he can throw , weather he is good at it or not yet, he fumbles a lot , can run like Vick , and isn’t very nervous at all . Badgley was the MVP in this game because the Ravens would have won with a comeback if the rookie kicker hadn't made so many clutch field goals and has been consistent besides the block. Casuals see low scoring games and think "boring". Real fans appreciate strong defenses doing their job. Ravens defense was good but they were on the field way too long.
Both D-Lines did pretty damn good but I have to give it more to Raven's D because at least Chargers tried making good plays. Raven's O was just sloppy.

This comment irritates me. I didn't watch the game, as I was preparing for the Eagles game (die-hard Philly fan here). So, I can't really comment as to how boring or exciting it was. But some football fans like you are insanely annoying. Football can be boring. Just as all sports can be. I agree, in principle, that great defense does not equal bad watching experience. However, there are times when the D isn't doing much of anything and the other team's offense just plays worse. I'm reminded of the last Peyton Manning game -- when he won the Super Bowl. Despite Von Miller being amazing, whenever the Broncos had the ball, it was *really* boring football to watch.

I keep hearing about Lamar's poor performance in this game. He was a rookie in his first playoff and was inserted midway through the season. Everyone on the team played tight. There were dropped passes and missed blocking assignments. The defense held for as long as it could. At the end of the 3rd going into the 4th, you could see the game slowing down for Lamar a little and he started to get some confidence back. At that point, I knew the kid would be fine.

In a way, it actually would have been enjoyable to see Flaccid put in. Hasn't played in weeks, completely immobile....no pretense at that point of running the ball , so D-line would be teeing off on QB every down....it would not have been pretty. Coaches knew that, that's why they didn't do it.

You can see that this is Lamar trying to play still in a Flacco style offense. There's plays where his scrambles would have scored but he hands it off and it gets stuffed. They totally fixed it for him in 2019.

Us ravens fans can’t be too mad , we weren’t supposed to be here , at 4-5 we put Lamar in to just let him develop , he led us to the playoffs and yes , bad game vs the Chargers, but Marty had bad play calling and the O line didn’t block well , Lamar is our future , we drafted him knowing what we were getting , and I think the fourth quarter proved some things about Lamar , he can throw , weather he is good at it or not yet, he fumbles a lot , can run like Vick , and isn’t very nervous at all . Badgley was the MVP in this game because the Ravens would have won with a comeback if the rookie kicker hadn't made so many clutch field goals and has been consistent besides the block. But some football fans like you are insanely annoying. Football can be boring. Just as all sports can be. I agree, in principle, that great defense does not equal bad watching experience. However, there are times when the D isn't doing much of anything and the other team's offense just plays worse. I'm reminded of the last Peyton Manning game -- when he won the Super Bowl. Despite Von Miller being amazing, whenever the Broncos had the ball, it was *really* boring football to watch.

The hate on Lamar is ridiculous. This man is a rookie who led his team to a 6-1 record to MAKE the Playoffs. He didn’t have the greatest 3 quarters but Is that really all on Lamar? NO, the offensive coordinator played the same formation all game... read option, run up the middle he didn’t even give Lamar a chance to throw the ball. When Lamar went wide in the 4th quarter with 3 WRs + TE he played beautiful, but no one is going to talk about that. 179 yards and 2 Tds in 4th Q. Also did you see how much pressure he was facing? The O-Line was terrible what is Flacco going to do when pressure comes? Lamar created yards out of nothing. He has some things to work on but respect his craft.

So you blame play calling. The same can be said for Chargers D in the 4th quarter. They chose to play contain D in the 4th. Giving the illusion Lamar was playing “better” in the 4th, but it was the Chargers playing too safe. Chargers nearly threw away the game because they decided to not keep their foot on the pedal like the first 3 quarters.

As a Ravens fan it’s been a great year, sure we didn’t start out strong, but thanks to the Ravens D, Tucker, and Lamar we just managed to get into the playoffs. Screw the Raven’s fans who were booing Lamar, who was a main part that got them there. GG’s to the Chargers it was a great game!

I keep hearing about Lamar's poor performance in this game. He was a rookie in his first playoff and was inserted midway through the season. Everyone on the team played tight. There were dropped passes and missed blocking assignments. The defense held for as long as it could. At the end of the 3rd going into the 4th, you could see the game slowing down for Lamar a little and he started to get some confidence back. At that point, I knew the kid would be fine.

In a way, it actually would have been enjoyable to see Flaccid put in. Hasn't played in weeks, completely immobile....no pretense at that point of running the ball , so D-line would be teeing off on QB every down....it would not have been pretty.

Props to the Chargers coaching staff for the great idea of loading the field with quick, good-tackling DB's to control Jackson. Chargers probably should have won by a bigger score, they kept losing the ball on those fumbles. Did anyone else complain about the refs, that call on the goal line where the Charger rolls and rolls but they don't give him the TD and then, place the ball back at the one! What the hell was that. Ravens fans also got some poor calls (holding and that Gordon play at the end line.Great D from both teams, the Ravens were hitting so hard I was cringing. Bring on the Brady Bunch!

You can see that this is Lamar trying to play still in a Flacco style offense. There's plays where his scrambles would have scored but he hands it off and it gets stuffed. They totally fixed it for him in 2019.
