  • I discuss the Hoyt Accutech Carbonite, a bow designed to be shot with your fingers. This model of bow is from 1998 and was one of the best bows of its time, how does it compare to bows of today?

Do strings have an age limit? If they dont look frayed, do you have no problem shooting a bow with strings 10 years old?

Strings age and degrade over time, especially when under constant tension like in a compound bow. I saw yoke cables snap on an unused bow just hanging on a wall. I wouldn't shoot strings more than 3-4 years old. When shot on a regular basis i change my strings and cables every year.
