Thanks for the review! On the hunt for a harness for 10+ mile runs/ hikes for time.

    Great review! Looks awesome!
@pawsitivelyintrepid, Is that your smaller dog wearing a red Switchback in the video??
Is the smaller dog wearing an XS Switchback harness? Or is the smaller dog wearing a XS Front Range Pack? per chance??
I'm trying to see reviews of XS Switchback and XS Front Range Pack and it's hard to see people reviewing the XS sizes.
    Thank you! Happy hiking!

Thank you! The smaller dog is wearing an xxs Flagline. She's about 13 pounds. I've had her in an xs Web Master which fit okay, but the xxs Flagline fits better for her.

Great review 👍 I must admit I'm still trying to decide between this and the Flagline harness! It would be cool for my dog to carry some of his own stuff (i.e a water bowl/ bottle) - but because he has a long, double-coat I worry he might get too warm with the Switchbak harness. Would you say the weight difference (excluding added weight) between this and the Flagline is evident? Or would a more lightweight harness be better for hiking walks? We have some amazing trails in the UK and of course want the best equipment to walk with. 😊

Thanks for watching! For the size small, my pup's Flagline weighs 6.4oz and the Switchbak (empty) weighs 11.7oz. So the Switchbak does weigh almost twice as much. And it covers more of the dog. So here in Minnesota, I loved the Switchbak during the cool spring weather. But I have been using the Flagline when it is hot out. Hope that helps you make your decision. They are both great harnesses.

helloI Thank you for the great reviews. I always used the web master. Now for my smaller dog (8kg) I'm thinking about the Switchbak. My only worry is, what if he swims? In theory without harness but what if... . Greetings Fleure

My pup, Glia, doesn't swim very much, but she does wade in the water with it. As long as the contents that you are putting in the pockets are water resistant, it should be okay to get everything wet. (Just watch for any chafing on your dog if they are wearing it wet.)

hello! if you have to choose only one Ruffwear harness wich one would you pick?

The Flagline. It's lightweight, easy to pack, not too hot for summer hiking, but still has a handle for lifting assistance and full body coverage that is hard for a dog to slip out of.
But the Switchback would be my second pick. I really like the pockets.
