  • I split this job into 2 videos. This is part 1.
I was finally able to the Cat 308 and brush cutter to the house. It was a rainy day, but I had put this chore off long enough. For the most part, I could stay on the pavement anyway. Even though a blade came off again, the EXRC54 did ok. It is definitely not an industrial-grade implement, but it does good for estate owners and farmers. I was able to cut trunks up to 2" in diameter effortlessly. The larger stuff caused components to fail. I have read negative comments on the quality of stuff coming out of China. Yes, the metal is thinner. I do have some minor leaks that are frustrating. But, but what I paid, the AGROTK EXRC54 brush cutter met my expectations.

So, looking at getting one of these Agrotk cutters for my case 80. You recommend them?

It’s a decent Olmert. Tighten all the bolts and fittings. As the bolts break or come loose replace with grade 8 nuts and bolts

Do you know what they recommend filling the gearbox with? Mine came with a grease fitting but I’ve been told to fill it with gear oil?

I was looking for the spot to add gear oil to mine too, when I first got it. However, these excavator mounted mowers are direct drive. Therefore, no gear oil required. Just make sure your bearings stay lubed.

@@hawksnest874there’s a grease zerk fitting below the hydraulic pump but in my brush mower for the bobcat they said to take out the grease zerk and pour gear oil into the gearbox so I wasn’t sure because the excavator mower came with a grease zerk as well

@@jamesbagos3459 Ok. That's the first I heard of that. But grease and lube oil doesn't make sense to me. I am not familiar with the skidsteer mounted brush cutters though. In any event, 80w-90 Gear oil should be fine.

I’ll look into them. These are ok for residential and estate maintenance. But, are not up to par for commercial and heavy duty use.
