Forever more Mike will be known as the father of extreme off-road trailer camping. Within seven years he will be the CEO of the company cranking these campers off the assembly line. I'm glad you invited us along for the shakedown cruiise. Happy camper - Happy life!
You have taken overlanding to a new level. The trailer did awesome. The steering capabilities really helps a lot from where I'm sitting. A little work inside & you will be ready to go camping. A definite 10 outa 10 for the first testing. Thanks for taking us along.
Dang, you guys have entirely toooo much fun!!! The trailer will be mega cool once she's done!! Deathstar, Ole Blue, and ETHYL!!! Epic!!! Thanks for inviting us to ride along! Peace out from ND....Land of Few Bumps!
What a great shake down run...the old girl handled beautifully..and everyone but Shawn was there ..Justin's pickup was looking strong..thanks for the ride
Looks so good behind the Blazer! That thing is sweet. Looks like you got the clearance / axle position just right. Congrats on the first run, thanks for bringing us along
I really like the work you've done to this point, the trailer steering is awesome. It seems like the camper design, as it moves forward, will be a real test of discipline to keep the weight and CG low to continue this type trail wheeling.
Hello from Ft Lauderdale, weight will be a BIG problem, most especially down hills, the uncontrollable descent will be dangerous... A few ideas: trailer brakes, Chinese diesel heater. Tow vehicle toting of the easy to move heavyweight items like water, Batteries, Fuel. Anything you can do to reduce the trailer weight, and keeping the weight IN the trailer as low to the floor as possible... Good luck my friends. Be safe!
Need to draw a Face on the back of the Trailer..break lights are the Eyes..and the storage box space is the mouth...lol... Jk... Supper Rad to see it out on the trails..Now just need the final push on the inside to get it Camp Ready.....some floors would help..but are not really necessary Ha!!!!.... Injoy it Brother going to be alot of fun...I think...
The trailer pulls easily now because it is a flat trailer with a little bit of lightweight aluminium on top, just wait until you put the furniture in, THEN we will see how it goes over rocks :) No left turn should be fun with the trailer steering.
The Retro Camper look fits so well. At first when you had your vision on the camper.. I was.. eemmmff.. but, what you've developed and ACTUALLY made work.. I'm all in now.. Happy Camper... INDEED!
Trailer breaks would be cool. Pto out the rear, run a driveline to the camper. Be neat. or a rear axle with another drive axle out the rear. Vehicles I'm thinking of articulate in the center of the rig. Off road rigs from Russia i think.. Same concept to the trailer. Be 6 wheel drive with brakes all around. Boy that would be cool. Also some external rock bars. And ofcourse rear steer on the pulling rig aswell.
Mike's got the prototype for success, but so much has to be said for his tow rig - great job with both, Mike! And, thanks to Shawn and Rory for their help and also for providing a bit of extra entertainment on the day!
you need a trailer BALLAST system ... that can shift the (low) ballast weight to compensate for the angular lean of the underlying terrain ... (ideally automatically)
Very enjoyable video. Few observations: Trailer preformed terrific. Somehow it appeared to be happy out there. Add a fold down window and grill and you'll be selling tacos and chili dogs as quick as you could make them. The Deathstar is a serious capable vehicle. Great sounds coming from the engine. Wonderful scenery. No stupid music! And Rory wheelin' a show room shiny show vehicle. What! Who da thunk it.
Mike your crushing it that thing rocks! Literally She wants to drag the ridges but that's also because it's empty. Steers great! With the weight of the forthcoming accommodations on board, it'll track even better. What an amazing day of wheeling!
That thing is too cool for cool. And if you don't watch out, you going to have your own shop to start building them for people. Because all the overlanders will want one. You can call it something like Mike's off road overland marvels. 👍👍👍😀🙂
Truly the next level of "Rocklanding" has evolved! Imagine the treat it was for those folks in the SXS seeing this group coming through. Gonna take some effort fitting the trailer out, think long and hard about how the poopers gonna take to the trail, let alone the fridge! I see a chance of a few call outs for cleanup on isle 5! What a match up with the "Death Star"
From concept to reality, and it works! The steerable camper trailer is a huge win! I imagine there's a few situations where trailer brakes might be handy but overall I believe you've created something that will soon become very popular among off-roaders world wide. Great job Mike, can't wait to see it built out.
Keep the center of gravity as low as possible in the camper as you build it out,,,,and i believe youre creating a new adventure class for campers!! Amazing performance Mike !!
Wow! Awesome! The only thing I think needs to be added is brakes and it's a mechanical marvel! Been trying to figure hydraulic brakes into it (due to the axle used). Maybe a hydraulic trailer brake system. Or there's a fancy bluetooth one used in towing that can push on a brake pedal to apply brakes on a towed vehicle. Not cheap but effective. But you're gonna need something especially once it's all kitted out with gear and food and other accessories for activities!
I wonder if the camper would gain a better approach/clearance if you matched the wheel base between the camper axle and the dearhstars rear axle with the deathstars wheel base? Just a thought... i really dig the build, Mike!
Mike your a genius man that trailer is Badass. You need some mirrors and a back up camera and you'll be set. Oh and trailer brakes. Manhattan thing is totally cool. Thanks for the video guy's can't wait for the next one.
The shake down run on the Overland Trailer went really well. As stated at the end a few minor additions and revisions then all is good to go. Great video and nice seeing Rory come out to play and maybe shake down Old Blue at the same time. Again Mike awesome just awesome.
Better get the charcoal back out, & dream up another mouse trap! LMAO!! Since this one is working so well, might as well keep the builds coming! Might find a few that could fund your hobbies!! Nice Work, if nothing else, trailer 2.1 could be for the tourist trade...

about 6 mins in ... that damn Trailmater dude , Stalking Mike like an Ambulance Chaser .. lol
Did Mike just start an adventure camper craze !?! I think maybe 💪😎
Everyone's going to be looking for those small trailers
This camper and the footage is off the CHAIN cool 😎
Awesome job Mike
Rory is unreal, he makes it so easy.
Trailer hitch and chassis seems to be at the right height to clear most obstacles. Just add rock slider/roll cage to hit and not crumble.😁👍
Amazing how the trailer just follows along. I' concerned about the high center of gravity. Thanks for sharing.
I had no idea you guys had put hydraulic steering in the trailer. Brilliant idea!!!
Big yellow here 👍🏻 love this my favorite locals
Mike success. It works congratulations my friend. Now help the square body he needs a cage I worry.
Dang, you guys have entirely toooo much fun!!! The trailer will be mega cool once she's done!! Deathstar, Ole Blue, and ETHYL!!! Epic!!! Thanks for inviting us to ride along! Peace out from ND....Land of Few Bumps!
Hey look! It's the long awaited dirtbillly/ trailmater colab!
The Death Star trailer combo is a sight to see
I hope this name is not a reference to what happens.
thats what you call making your ideas into reality keep on happy camping
Better nail everything down in that camper driving on extreme angles. Can't believe it works so well.🎉 Unbelievable 😊 Great job.
What a great shake down run...the old girl handled beautifully..and everyone but Shawn was there ..Justin's pickup was looking strong..thanks for the ride
Don't want to make your heads to big but by golly this outing was positively EPIC ! ❤
Next step...cameras on the back outside edge of the cab on both sides. Neat toy ya got there.
Looks so good behind the Blazer! That thing is sweet. Looks like you got the clearance / axle position just right. Congrats on the first run, thanks for bringing us along
that setup looks sweet

I think you got the balance point for the camper axle just right, and the trailer hitch length also. Very good 👍
Absolutely Impressive, maiden voyage went well. Congratulations..
Mike's got the mobile lunch box,
Lol
That thing is wicked pisssar cool
Escalator with a caravan!
Old Blue crawlin' outta the hot tub was sick!
10/10 Can't wait to see it finished because right now it's just a shell of its former self .😂
PDC. Pretty Damm Cool.
Genius!
The blazer is so badass!
It's a Chevy "az" since both the "Bl" and "er" have been chopped off already. 😂
Square bodies for the win!
One of the best ways to make one of the coolest trucks in Moab cooler, build a cool trailer to pull behind It. Thank you Mike.
Impressive !
Need to draw a Face on the back of the Trailer..break lights are the Eyes..and the storage box space is the mouth...lol...

Dotbilly deluxe That was a fantastic vithough.Thank you very much.Look forward to seeing the full camping one.👏👏🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲👍🇬🇧🏴
need some diamond plate aluminum around sides of camper so rubs and scrapes wont do as much damage awesome ride mike thanks for bringing us along
The trailer pulls easily now because it is a flat trailer with a little bit of lightweight aluminium on top, just wait until you put the furniture in, THEN we will see how it goes over rocks :)
No left turn should be fun with the trailer steering.
Mike you definitely give new meaning to overlanding. I was really impressed
The Retro Camper look fits so well. At first when you had your vision on the camper.. I was.. eemmmff.. but, what you've developed and ACTUALLY made work.. I'm all in now..
Happy Camper... INDEED!
Thank you!
What a sweet setup, Many memories to come with camping and wheeling.
Trailer breaks would be cool.

Trailer perform just like Rory pulling a sxs over any obstacles

Nothing like proof of concept! Congrats!
That's some great stuff guys. Not as easy as you make it look. Can't wait for the actual camp out with the off road Camper.
Love it..!!!!!
Now I want one..!!
Very enjoyable video. Few observations:
Trailer preformed terrific. Somehow it appeared to be happy out there.

Now to order up some unbreakable dishes. Awesome build Mike.
All should be good
That trailer is cool!

gimbal mounts for everything that needs it.
Love how you chose to ware your Matt's hat. Mike is Moab's new King of Off Road Campers ORDER yours now and avoid the rush*-)
The love shack trailer. If it is rocking don't come knocking.
That camper is doing what its supposed to do and more camper steer for the win mike u rock 👍👍👍💯💯💯🍻🍻🍻
now put a self center button and boom baby
From concept to reality, and it works! The steerable camper trailer is a huge win!
I imagine there's a few situations where trailer brakes might be handy but overall I believe you've created something that will soon become very popular among off-roaders world wide. Great job Mike, can't wait to see it built out.
That little trailer looks so cute!
Way to go Mikey ... that was freaking awesome!
Haha trailer steering??? That's awesome!!
Great work Mike! I have a feeling people will be knocking on your door to build one for them! Thanks guys!
You should have your copilot learn to steer the trailer, that way you can focus on the road. With practice you could fly through obstacles.
Keep the center of gravity as low as possible in the camper as you build it out,,,,and i believe youre creating a new adventure class for campers!! Amazing performance Mike !!
That will be a great camper, as long as you get all the stuff you carry in the camper tied down hard.
Ole Blue got some rock rash.
Possibly build some rock sliders, and you'll be golden. Keep up the good work, boys, and if you ever down this way, come visit.
Camper went well, now you just need to finish it. Thanks Mike.
Wow! Awesome!

"Ten out of ten on the trailer's first run." Yes sir.
Great job Mike!!! Git' er Done!!!
Building my self a off road trailer. Thank you for your test I can move on with mine.

Yahoo! The Stormtrooper made it!!!
Justin - more scenery, less trucks... /jkg
Just loving it 😎😎😎😎
Rock on!!! Heck yes!!!! I really like the build!!!
I wonder if the camper would gain a better approach/clearance if you matched the wheel base between the camper axle and the dearhstars rear axle with the deathstars wheel base? Just a thought... i really dig the build, Mike!
Man, I enjoy Justin's, and the other camera slingers, filming. They do an excellent job. The off-road camper is quite the camper. Good job!!
Nice job. Looks like the weight is a bit challenging on the downhills, but definitely a solid success.
Had to see it to believe it...
Nice work on that trailer steering.
Another Happy Camper!! Great job Mike!
Mike your a genius man that trailer is Badass. You need some mirrors and a back up camera and you'll be set. Oh and trailer brakes. Manhattan thing is totally cool. Thanks for the video guy's can't wait for the next one.
Mike leading the way today with his camper & # one not far behind, I'm Shure Shawn is there some where. The guys having fun.Bunch of great guys.
Mike, can’t wait to see the finished product 👍🇺🇸
Mike it's amazing how easy it went through everything you drove through! Great camper idea!!
The shake down run on the Overland Trailer went really well. As stated at the end a few minor additions and revisions then all is good to go. Great video and nice seeing Rory come out to play and maybe shake down Old Blue at the same time. Again Mike awesome just awesome.
Great job that things awesome
Ridiculous, ridiculously awesome!
Reminds me of a ole gamma goat with that steering
A for effort A+ the rig. I bet your girlfriend is proud of you too!
Nicely done ol’kid.
Mike has mastered rear steer. Now a rear steer buggy build in the near future.
Better get the charcoal back out, & dream up another mouse trap! LMAO!! Since this one is working so well, might as well keep the builds coming! Might find a few that could fund your hobbies!! Nice Work, if nothing else, trailer 2.1 could be for the tourist trade...
Yes Dude... Absolutely the coolest.
