- In this weeks video I have some really exciting news to share about some of my animals. I have some outside DIY-projects for the cat enclosure and in my cottage I'm putting together a new cabinet. Kittens are adorable always...you will have many many more in the future and need a very big cat house soon if spay and neuter isn't an option for you...I say ttis with love for the cats as I live in a rural area whete so many kittems get dumped and multiply over and over. I love your cottage and prpoerty and all of your DIY-ing and your love for animals.
They really are. Yes I'm very aware, but I won't keep breeding with them, so that will not be a problem. I also will find a new good loving home for all of the kittens. And in the future, I will spay Mokka and neuter Azur both. But for now I'm just hoping everything goes right with Mokka and we will have some amazing kittens next week. I live in rural AZ. I've taken 15 cats in for N/S. So many animals abandoned end up here, scared to death and confused.

Oh ya, I have a few of those corners one for wood one for metal and one for whatever I change out during the seasons and spray paint. I'm always organizing my corners so it doesn't look so bad in my yard. At least you have lots of space to have these corners. I love watching you you are so much like me. I was an architect but took it into construction and project management. I love to build, craft paint and draw. Do you have a merch shop on your page?

Hello again Nikky.....what a delightful video. The kitty house will be wonderful.....safe and cozy. Can't wait to see the new kittens! Not sure how cold it gets in your area. We had friends who had many cats and lined their kitten house with insulation....but were careful to cover the insulation so they would not pull it apart. Also they made little climbing areas...with steps and a little walk for them. You are so clever and handy. Thank you again for such a nice video of your little house and all the area surround it.
Thank you so much! Right now it's not that cold, but if needed I can always just move them inside my cottage, that's no problem at all. I will definitely make those climbing areas, it's a good idea, thank you!

I too think that most of us have an area for the ‘just in case’ stuff, my husband’s garage is full of it. 😅
I hope the weather improves for you soon so you can get onto the Guinea pig enclosure. I live in the southern hemisphere so we are in our winter season so are experiencing cold, wet weather.

So glad that you plan to spay and neuter! Cats can get out of control in number so quickly~!
We also do it with the cats roaming around, just to prevent problems.
I just watching your videos after each other, just found your channel :)) I would like to ask about your cats a bit (I haven't watched all of your videos of course, so sorry if this already came up). we have laws in Hungary which prevents cats roaming around in nature, they should all be kept indoors/on catios/in a fenced yard as outdoor cats do great harm in the ecosystem, killing birds/lizards/small animals and of course they can harm themselves or go on roads and cause accidents... as you mentioned, you have some cats outdoors not in the enclosure, so I assume you don't have laws like this? or how do you prevent them being harmed and causing harm? thank you, if you answer!
Hey, welcome here! You can ask me everything. We don't have those laws here, cats can be outside and at farms in the Netherlands they are often used to keep down the rats and mice population, so they are needed outside and in the barns.Thats also why we have a few of those cats walking around, because they sometimes breed when they are outside. All of the cats walking outside on the property ( so not in my cat enclosure) were one day wild cats and we didn't buy them or anything. They lived here before I did. But we neutered and spayed them all, so no more litters. Cruelli and Milkyway are the cats that walk outside in my garden, my brother and I raised them with the bottle from day 1, because the mother couldn't do it. At night the sleep in my brothers tiny house. In the enclosure I have Mokka and Azur, they live in the enclosure or inside my home, to keep them safe, because it's just a very different type of cat and not used to living outside. When it comes to keeping them safe, we don't have a lot of roads very nearby and most of the times they manage great on their own, but we can't prevent everything. We try to keep or 'own' cats that we raised close and safe, but the ones living outside don't belong to anybody. We feed them sometimes, but they take care of themselves mostly. The cat enclosure has been transformed into Pussy Cat Palace, a lovely place for the growing family. The shelving unit looks lovely in the corner. Great video. Pauline

What I like about your videos is that you come across as a very natural person, without poses or artifice and I think your way of life is brave and lovely. I do have a couple of questions....Why do you want Guinea pigs and aren't you afraid they might be attacked by other animals? And also...How do you support yourself? God Bless!
Thank you so much! I just love guinea pigs, I will keep them as pets, not for food or anything like that. They will have a night enclosure that I will close up to keep them safe from foxes, in the day I need to protect them from larger birds, but that's the same with the chickens. Having a dog walking around really helps and I will put netting over the whole enclosure if it's a big problem. And I work, I'm not able to sustain myself with this lifestyle (yet), but I'm hoping I will be one day. ❤️
Oh ....one more thing. do you provide a litter box or litter area? and perhaps a scratching post.

Kittens on the way! Can’t wait, they should be so beautiful… blue eyes. Wondering why you have those heavy curtains in your house when you have no neighbours? I do love all seasons as well, except summer! We are having constant heat waves at 44C way to hot 🥵 stuck in my apartment next to the AC and fans. City living sucks. Oh I hope they have their fathers eyes, it looks so beautiful! The curtains are mostly for wintertime, because of the cold from the windows. It helps great! Wow that’s so hot! We are suppose to get a few really hot days the coming week. ☀️ thank you for your comment and have a nice day! ♥️

lovely job on the kitty enclosure, i think it should be bigger (maybe wrap around the cottage) looking forward to seeing the baby kitties
am surprised you don't use the double glass doors during the summer, have them wide open for the summer breezes to waft through your cottage, a pergola over the top of your deck would be an added bonus
the shelving unit looks great, maybe a hanging plant on the top; some good reading books & of cos your ornaments, you can still use the oil burners without their covers

Your enclosure is beautiful. You may want to create another shelf in it to attach the other cat house so they can climb up to it. Just an idea 😊 they will be much happier in the enclosure now that it is nice and clean for them. Great job❤

I like your feed barrel, it has a nice top to seal, its true only background noise comes when we turn on the camera, lol, I like how you redid the enclosure, beautiful cats, lovely skies and views, and enjoy watching all your project updates, take care Nikky, good editing.
It’s a really nice feeding barrel, it was actually a gift from my grandparents, years ago. They used it for their own chickens for years. Thank you so much for the compliments, it means a lot, and keeps me really motivated to make better videos every week. I hope you have a great day! ♥️

The flooring in the catio looked great. The bookcase looked great. I was wondering about predators for the chickens.
Thank you so much! Predators are a problem, mostly foxes. Thats why we have the chickens locked up in the night enclosure, so they are as safe as possible.
@@nikkydegraaf We have falcons. They circle over head and make a squawking noise until they start coming down out of sky for the target animal. I kind of surprised no Owls or other predatory birds.
it helps that my dog is always around, he keeps them safe from birds. And they only roam very close to my cottage.

Hi Nikky! so much going on in this weeks video. Those cats are just BEAUTIFUL. They are going to have adorable babies. I cannot wait to see them. The cat enclosure is so nice for them. You think of everything to keep your animals comfortable! The guinea pigs house I can't wait for that as well. The shelf you built looks nice, maybe some old books or classic books on it would look nice. I am glad you had some relief from the rains to work on your enclosures. We are over the heat wave! Today is just gorgeous and no air conditioning needed. Its a pleasant 82 degrees. Will you keep all of the baby kittens? I know some give them to friends who want kittens. I always kick back and relax while watching and listening to your videos. I love the music you select and all of the visuals. I think the classic books for the shelf is a great idea! I'm very happy to hear the weather is pleasant for you now, right now it's very hot here. I wish I would be able to keep all the kittens, I think it's just a bit to much. I have two family members that would love a kitten, and a neighbor. So I have some people that would love one, but I'm not sure it will be a large litter. We will have to wait and see. I would keep them both indoors. T y for taking such good care of them and for loving animals. Our tom cat Thomas is in and out . He kills rabbits and lays them at sons feet. We make him stay in at nite. He's a rescue. I don't pet him hes too grumpy but he loves my son who rescued him. I feed him and call him indoors at 10 p m when my son travels. I have 4 dogs left now all seniors all rescued and 3 birds left. I hear enclosure areas are great for cats. Outdoors but safe still. Nice you're close to your mother. I would've wished that. Mine died when she was 40 in Vanderbilt hospital. I was 21. 70s kid and southern girl. You speak perfect English. Enjoying your talks. R.
