Wow, I didn't realize this video was so popular! I made it for a school project years ago and forgot about it. Sorry the final step was confusing! It's hard to explain, but you just have to keep pushing the folds the way they're supposed to go until it becomes 3D. Work from the edges towards the middle.
had similar problem towards the end but figured out that if you fold the X towards you and the lines intersecting the X away from you each time then it should start to form
I just did the tutorial, and i think what's wrong with step 8 is that people don't turn the paper over. I just feld the paper by watching the straight lines and it did well.
This tutorial becomes completely useless at step 8 :/

I did it! I almost gave up after a few days! You have to be patient. Card stock paper is better . Also you have to force it.
I've done this to part 8 but i can't understand or do what you do in that part... Could you or anybody give me some explanations ? :)
same
When you come to the comment section, looking for an answer what the hell happened at step 9, but everybody else got the same question.
I figured it out- Woopwoop
@@silviailves3367 you going to share then Silvia >
Dang it. I spent an hour to figure out how to finish the last step
We cant understand 8. step. I wasted about 2 hours. Dont try this.

Niel Henry Sabando folding techniques for designers : Paul Jackson as author :)
what book were you using?
Folding Techniques for Designers: From Sheet to Form by Paul Jackson
nice, I will try this and draw an optical illusion or fractal on it :D
what just happened? which way do you fold it on step 7?
Fold on the side where you drew the lines
u ll se on step 8
Step 9 means to flatten the piece then you can stretch it out
1h to figure out 8th step, once u do it 9 is done by itself
i get lost at step 7-9
Thank you so much.
This is easy to me
coudn't understand how it became a strip... very poor tutorial
Try the herringbone tessellation first- it's easier.
Very Cool! Try out the geo sculptures on the Anguinart channel too.
