Wow, this came out way better than I anticipated it would! In my collection, this is good enough to represent a "traditional" Taskmaster.

I'm glad they went with a bigger male body for taskmaster. For me taskmaster is a dude and will look great in the collection along with the other marvel figures

It was definitely just a boring plot twist just to make the straight forward plot, slightly less linear.
Even though I’ll never afforded one of these, I’ll still tune in and wish😂

If the MCU ever wanted to introduce the actual Taskmaster, they can like have him salvage the armor from this gal and do what taskmaster does best. Maybe even crossover with Oscar's Moon Knight. Anyways, great review as always.

@@JustinsCollection Now that I've taught about it, yeah, they can still improve taskmaster without switching to Anthony Masters. Even if the ending climax falls flat for me, Natasha curing her can benefit her character for future projects
honestly really like this figure and I maybe alone but I also liked the movie too. I also think it makes sense for her to be that big because I remember when she took off her helmet she looked funny because of how big her body was compared to her head.

The figure turned out better than I expected, which is always a plus. The only thing that's missing for me is that I would've liked some kind of light up feature in the helmet since the heads up display was a key part of the visor in the movie. Might pick this up at some point in the future, great review

Interesting thing is there were 3 stunt people for taskmaster. 2 men, and a woman, as well as the actress. They had so many martial art styles, they needed several experts. Kurlyenko herself also can do some stunts (she did b list movies mainly because of this, before her english improved)

Thank you for a great unboxing and review. Despite all the controversy about the movie's portrayal of Taskmaster, I think Hot Toys did a remarkable job capturing the likeness from Black Widow. I've pre-ordered this figure and can't wait to see it for myself.

Even after seeing Black Widow I still liked the design of Taskmaster. No matter what they did with the character in the movie I still cannot hate this design, it is cool.
And if you still cannot forgive Marvel for what they did to Taskmaster (like me a lil bit) here's my advice to you to. My headcanon: Drakov's daughter is still dead, and taskmaster was an assassin (tony masters if you want) who was hired by Drakov to kill her and retrive the serrum. All they had to do and it would have worked

Pretty cool figure. I don't have any prior history with Taskmaster, so I wasn't disappointed by the portrayal in the film; this might just get picked up once the prices are slightly discounted.

No no no. The tailoring of the suit is excellent, I love the mask and those hands are better than I expected... My goodness look at that bow with a real string!!
And of course we have an excellent narrating voice.

I really love the look of this figure. Unfortunately I need to start being selective and have pretty much stopped getting any new Marvel figures, and am just concentrating on Star Wars, with even that being really limited. So tempted to get this figure though. I loved the movie, the character, and this figure just looks amazing, especially the colour combos.

@@JustinsCollection it’s just personal preference. I’m much more used to the classic interpretation of task master. I feel like his larger physique and overall composure works better male. I would be totally fine with the change too if it actually meant anything for the film. There’s already quite a few marvel characters that have been gender swapped whos changes I totally agree with and some that I don’t! Taskmaster just happens to be the latter.
@@JustinsCollection I think one of the reasons people may be turned off is that it only really goes one way. You would never see a woman changed. And I think it's just keeping the iconography of the character. Or just who it is in general. This taskmaster is nothing like the comic so people who like him may be turned off.

Edit: also taskmaster was played by a guy so I don't think marvel thought a woman could do it themselves. That kind of works against them as a woman can easily have screen presence. Same with them using CGI on Natalie Portman to make her more muscular. But no, more power to those who like it like yourself. Optimism is a good thing after all.
I canceled this figure about 2 weeks ago. With all the Star Wars announcements, I had to make some cuts. I figured, I have no emotional attachment to this figure, nor did I enjoy the movie. However, I happen to think the design of the suit was magnificent. The figure looks absolutely incredible, and it sucks that I had to sacrifice it. Hoping that this figure heads straight to the bargain bin so I can include it in my collection at a price my wallet will be happier with. I may not have liked the movie, but I can appreciate a very nice looking/quality figure. Something tells me that this guy will head to bargain bin prices soon (and ill snatch him up then) and then once he sells out, this figure will be highly sought after.

Black Widow wasn’t as bad as the Eternals and I like Taskmaster it was very interesting to see the change in Taskmaster as a woman I was amazed at the moment Taskmaster identity was revealed. Great review 👍🏼

I've had my eye on this figure for a while. This might be an unpopular opinion, but I thought Black Widow was great and I thoroughly enjoyed it, minus the horrible Nirvana cover in the opening credits I would've loved to have seen Taskmaster fight Black Panther or Captain America in the MCU, which would've been amazing. That said, great review as always Justin. I will definitely be picking her up and creating scenes that could've been.

The only salvageable things about this taskmaster are his design and weapons, but his background, motivations, and abilities were wasted in this incarnation. I hope Marvel rectify themselves like they did with the Mandarin

Is anyone here know about the differences about the hollogram sticker on the bottom back on the package from hot toys taskmaster? I got a hot toys hollogram but while the others got disney hollogram? Is there anyone here already knew about the differences? Between a silver stiker hollogram disney and hot toys?

I like taskmaster in the comics . Taskmaster looks cool . But for me however I’m not a fan that woman played as taskmaster in the movie and the only scene I liked with taskmaster the bridge fighting black widow and that’s it for me . Pretty disappointing . The figure looks good though

They wanted Task Master to be a strong female character instead of the comic-accurate male character, but they chosen a male stunt double to do her stunts

Great review Justin, this figure turned out awesome! Yeah I’m same way, Black Widow is one of my favorite MCU films and I thought taskmaster was a very cool villain. Never understood the hate the film received. Definitely will pick this up and I can’t wait for Natasha and Yelena from the movie.

I'm a 30 year comic book fan and Task Master is still my favorite Villain, in spite of the MCU's meddling.

It is a nice looking figure, I just can't stand what they did with the character and don't need a reminder of it on the shelf. Although, if they can get the hood to sit nicely on this figure they could have given Moon Knight a proper hood instead of sculpted.

I skipped this because of the portrayal of the character in the movie. Would I rather it be Tony Masters? Absolutely. But the problem I had was the character in the movie lacking any CHARACTER at all! No real lines or anything to say. I could forgive the dumb and pointless gender swap but at least have her be interesting besides a silent baddy. What a supremely stupid move by the MCU. Also giving TM that origin takes away that poinient scene Natasha has early on. I mean just let Natasha have her dark moment of making that difficult choice of killing an innocent...but no. Instead they back pedal on that moment and it turns out the girl was alive all along. What a cowardly way of telling a story.
That said, I do like the design of this suit. I might pick it up still and pose it with my Deadpool and pretend that it's the more interesting and fun Taskmaster from Udon's run on Deadpool.

I never understood what all the fuss was about. Everyone is always quoting,”The Multi-Verse” with story lines. Couldn’t this just be a Task Master with a different origin story from a different multi-verse. When I think of it that way, I’m good 😊.

The movie version was such crap, especially since for 95% of the film, it was clearly a MALE wearing the suit. Notice how after the face reveal, her body becomes way more feminine, way smaller, they ruined Taskmaster man......but nice figure though, I suppose.
