Y'know I wished for 2 things after this plot twist ending:
1. I wish we had 1 last ultimate debate scrum between Shuichi and Tsumugi's cosplay.
2. I wish they added an ending where we could see the whole v3 cast happy in the real world outside of danganronpa after winning the killing game.😭
I would've been way more satisfied if that happened instead of the ending got NGL...

Personally I prefer they kept it ambiguous. Although a virtual reality ending is comforting and means that your favourite character didn’t really die, from a writing standpoint it doesn’t make sense. They already used the “virtual reality” trope, abusing it too much makes it way more predictable and cliche.
@@kingserpentsea True, I'm okay with the ending now °^° but back then, they intended v3 to be the final game in the franchise. Once I finished the game I wasn't as satisfied. I respect how they made the ending open to interpretation buut a part of me wishes they could've added a "one last goodbye" sequence to end the franchise y'know?
You guys should try checking out a Drv3 comic called the "After Ending to Drv3" which takes place after the Epilogue of the game^^ look it up here in TH-cam if you haven't seen it yet. Its pretty Good!

When ever I see junko I feel lots of dispair
I just find it weird ppl don’t question some of the things Tsumugi has said and done during this trial. Like for example “She can cosplay the world” or how pre-game Tsumugi hid her identity even though she had no reason to if she was part of the staff of danganronpa. What I find more strange is how Tsumugi herself said she couldn’t cosplay real people despite her saying that the V3 cast are fictional. Then I find the audition tapes to be very suspicious considering how Tsumugi said they are willingly happy to join the killing game despite pre-game Kaede saying she was kidnapped. Then in Shuichi’s and Kaede’s tape they strangely censor out their names despite them introducing themselves with the same name in the early game. People say V3’s story is finish but all it did is raise more questions whether or not the things that have been said in the game to be the truth or lie.
Yeah and that exactly the point, what tsumugi tells the cast is inconsistent from what we(the players) know and it's up to interpretation to decide what you think v3 actually is this making impossible to discern what is the TRUTH and is a LIE.

@JAMS Dream That's why I love v3 ending, you could argue that tsumugi didn't have to play dumb because the prologue wasn't part of the show and she wouldn't have a reason to act dumb, that would mean she was brainwashed into being the mastermind the same way everyone was brainwashed into their characters, she could have memories of being from team danganronpa and such.

Tsumugi is the altimate cosplayer, she can change her cosplays in seconds, i think she could've put that pink color on hir skin by makeup or something.
that's just what i think tho, maybe it's true and they are real people with no talents, but team danganronpa forces them to play a killing game by playing with they're memories, and tsumugi could've been a victim too.

You know what? I love Tsumugi, and I love the ending twist. I’m normally against genre deconstructions, but this time? This time it’s beautiful. I loved these characters, hated them, celebrated the deaths of some and mourned the deaths of even more. And at the end being told that they never existed…it’s liberating, like someone took a weight of my shoulders. The fact they aren’t real doesn’t mean I stopped caring. If anything, I care more than ever.
Could you imagine the charges and casualties team Danganronpa would receive if they orchestrated 53 killing games by turning teens and young adults into fictional characters??? The amount of therapy the survivors would need if they get back to the real world??? This theory raises so many questions...

People being so mad about the "Dananronpa 1+2 are fiction" thing was always incredibly dumb to me. Danganronpa was always fictional in our world, V3 taking place in a world that also has them be fictional doesn't change anything about 1 and 2. Danganronpa 1 and 2 are still real in their own universe, just like they were real in their own universe before v3 came out and they were fictional in ours.

I know this twist is controversial, but I think it's pretty brilliant. It's a good satire on franchise fatigue and the toxic parts of the fanbase. And at the very least they wrote it in such a way that it's conceivable that Tsmugi was just lying to make them fall to despair. The whole cospox thing is contradictory, if Kaede is a fictional character, than she should have been able to cosplay as her without changing colors.

One thing I don't see many people noticing is that Tsumugi and Kokichi are basically if Makoto and Junko swapped places. The way Kokichi can't see through Tsumugi even though he's a (Gary Stu) supernatural-level genius and how Tsumugi is basically a normal girl who survives (and almost wins the game) purely by luck and her lowest moments are mostly self sabotage. Kokichi is Junko if she wasn't a real villain and Tsumugi is Makoto if he used luck and hope for evil (Nagito isn't necessarily evil, just a bitch)
