Thank you, this is helpful. I am struggling with high hamstring tendinopathy and even sitting irritates it! I have been trying exercises my PT gave me but they also seem to irritate it. Now I see that they are exercises where the tendon is compressed, then loaded. It sounds like I need to do exercises that load the hamstring with a straight leg... I'll give it a go. Just wanted to say thank you for sharing!
Hello Tom, great insights on progressions for Hamstring Tendinopathy. I agree that rehabilitation depends on each individual and should be tailored to their needs as you mentioned in the video. My question is, in a runner (for instance) with Hamstring Tendinopathy, during the phases of rehabilitation (stage 1- stage 4), what criteria should be taken into account to get them to their functional best? Should they be allowed to run/ practice in the initial stages of rehabilitation?
Hi Priyanka, wherever possible I try to keep a level of running going even early in the rehab but it depends a lot on a patient's levels of irritability. Sometimes we need a short rest period to let things settle then a gradual return
