But why should they ? It is known that a hand full of cars are checked. If they run illegal cars and they get picked, then tough luck I guess. They just could‘ve run a legal car and they wouldn’t have a problem
@@braul9093Yeah.. this is the weird one for me. I understand picking a handful of cars, but when a couple of cars fail, surely you have to check their teammate's as it's a high likelihood that their cars were also running illegally.
1: This is called a spot check and it keeps all teams in check. Check ALL the planks after the race, if any in the "random" test fail... give a 10 place grid penalty to any others that fail ... a bit inconsistent but better than the current situation. New plank and skid blocks should be allowed after the sprint ... or have a new plank for the sprint and its qualifying session then replace it for the main race.
@bruhmoment2088 ... they collect them (as they are a throw away item) and examine them later ... they have time because they have a week to issue the grid penalties ... and the 'fault' is a slam dunk! In fact they could just examine the skid blocks ... again replaced items. The problem is really if a grid penalty for some is more unfair than ignoring the problem. The championship is affected in the amount of money each team gets, and any team ending up lower in the points than they should be loses a great deal of money. Checo's car should also have been checked as it directly affects the leading positions in the championship.
the entire Imola '94 weekend was tragic. Barrichello survived a massive crash on friday and Roland Ratzenberger got killed in qualyfing, but the organizers didn't want to cancel the race coz money.
Now everyone complaining the only way will be to check every car after every race . Just like not really track limits 20 year ago but now its over the top, i thought these skid blocks got checked after every race for the last 25 plus years anyway, why is it in the news again
Because a milimeter provides a super big advantage and so much more speed, I bet an extra lap and it would be quicker than a red bull, honestly it’s ridiculous that they think it’s gonna provide a disadvantage to other teams
Didn't they used to be wooden or they back to wooden, ithought they changed them to metal to get sparks to fake, sparks flying, like they fake everything in f1 now including driver introduction nonsense
It's not fair because the team had only one practice session thanks to the sprint weekend to get data about skid wear, and even if they notice a high skid wear in the sprint they cant do anything because of parc fermé
Other teams didn't have an issue. So what's unfair about it? They were all on equal run time. Literally the definition of fair. Aww but the notorious cheat Crymilton and his smug Merc team got disqualified so it's definitely unfair right? Logic....
@nathanwho1384 only 4 cars were checked and 50% of them failed so most likely other teams had issues too and when did the comment even mention Hamilton 😑
@zachprashar we all know why people think it isn't fair. Any time something happens to Crymilton and Merc, you can be sure their "fans" will cry as much as Hamilton does over an entire race weekend....
@nathanwho1384 All Im trying to say is that first of all the comment we r replying to didn’t even reference Hamilton so idk y u brought it up and I support Hamilton but I’m not saying he shouldn’t be disqualified cos he should be I’m just saying if 4 cars had been checked y weren’t all of them. It’s just inconsistent from the FIA
For all this big heads calling Merc and Ferrari cheaters. Are you aware Hamilton was disqualified by 0.1 mm? Yes plank was thin by 0.1 mm for sure it gave Mercedes "huge" advantage 🤣 Rules are rules so disqualification was properly in this situation but ppl think please before you wrote some rubbish. BTW I never saw so many fanboys and hate in any other sport than F1.
I've got a net worth of about 900k. I know a convict from Oklahoma that would wear Hamilton and what's name out on any track in any car. I'd bet my net worth on it.
Nobody cheated. The problem is that there is not enough data and time in the practice runs to set the right height (especially with bumpy Austin). That weekend there was a sprint race which caused the problem of not having enough time and data to set the good height of the car.

Senna's death changed f1 so much

Not really. Money is still the most important thing for the owners and FIA. That is why it became ultra boring.
It's the Americanization of the sport and fans thinking Netflix was real, made it worse. That and Lewis max fans still argue abu Dhabi 21
Anyone else get a chill down their spine when he mentioned Imola 1994? RIP Senna. 🇧🇷

I thought something was up. My dad watched the first few laps of the race with me. He never watches F1 and even he noticed the amount of sparks
The skid blocks have no purpose only to show the shower of sparks for show. They should have kept the kevlar since it's safer but the FIA doesn't want

Yeah they mix it with fiberglass nowadays I believe
