Fishing my own back garden at ‘River Lot Paradise’😁🇫🇷🎣

- Join me & Shaz for a early spring 48hr session fishing from our back garden on the wonderful River Lot.
The river was in flood conditions so conditions were difficult but we managed some stunning river carp & a few catfish 😁🇫🇷🎣
🔥Tackle/Bait used :
➡ Rod : Nash Scope 9ft 3.5tc
➡ Reel : Penn affinity 7000
➡ Bait : Nash 20mm pineapple boilies, Maize & Tiger nuts
➡ Line : 50lb kastking braid/Fox 55lb submerge braid
➡ Shock Leader : 60lb Big Game
➡ GoPro HERO 10

I employ the far bank/near bank lead setup a lot dropping baits from a boat. You reference how quick you need to be, you might try this method? Go out, drop your rig, then go up the far margin against the flow for a fairly decent way, before cutting back across river in a big upriver bow. When you get back to your swim there should still be a decent upriver bow moving down. This gives you tons of time to take get off the boat, get the rod extended and backlead on, then it’s a case of taking up the slack as the flow straightens it and dropping the backlead so everything settles in straight. I’ve had great results since coming up with this, both in the uk and on the Lot
Hi Joe, that’s exactly what I do in the strong flows. Always come back in a curve against the flow 👍🏻👍🏻
It’s quite snaggy where I was fishing so going up the far margin could result in getting snagged up.

@@jim_lightfoot yeah snags suck. I’m fortunate that I don’t have to fish so tight to the margin as this. I have more issues with the rowers then the flow. Close season for me at the minute, I always enjoy the break tbf!

Thanks Zombie 😁👍🏻 I’m using 9ft 3.5tc scope rods..they are real tough rods and the shorter size definitely helps with the big leads 🎣

Not from the lower stretches of the river..loads of barbel higher up in the shallower more faster stretches 👍🏻🎣

Cheers K..all depends where abouts you are on the river. Upstream in the shallower faster water it’s an excellent chub & barbel river. Downstream it’s more carp & catfish 👍🏻🎣
