- Welcome to week 26 of our camper van conversion diary of our VW long wheelbase Crafter. We’re Cheryl and Steve and were completing a DIY conversion on our panel van.
This week, we run into a whole lot of problems and we need to take drastic action!!! We end up using a multi tool to sort the issues! We also reveal our cupboard front design.
If you are interested in any of the items, we have used to build the van, lots of them have come from Amazon. Click here to view our storefront and all the products we have bought and used from Amazon.

Hi Guy's,
Another how to do it master class 😊.
We take our hats off to you for the fact you show the downs as well as the ups.
All in all we think you are doing a brilliant job.
Enjoy your weekend trip and relax 😌.
Take care,
Paul and Joanne 👍
PS Groundhog day, Top film 🎥
Another vote for Steve! Thanks for your support guys.
lovely to meet you guys! 😊
Wes, loves groundhog day, Amy has to agree, it’s abit meh 😂
loving the idea of using the coffee bags! 👏🏻
YES!!! Finally, someone who agrees with Cheryl! 😂😂
Thanks guys! 😊 Lovely to meet you too.
Groundhog Day.
AWESOME film 😂
Another vote for Team Steve!
@@pitched_up_wanderers 🤣
Hi guys really like the Coffee Sack idea really stands out and is totally different,
And Steve i bet you've really had enough of those hinges lol...
Thank you. We're really pleased and figured that if we get bored of them, we can easily switch for something else.
Yes, the hinges are not our favourite!!!
Nice video as always :)
Thank you 😊
When you're not feeling it, walk away. Take a break and come back with a fresh mind.
Great advice! We tend to just stare at the walls 🤣🤣
Take no notice of what she says it’s a brilliant film. I have a van that I take the dogs out in and it’s called the Caddy shack after another bill Murry, brilliant film😂😂😂😂😂
Another vote for Team Steve!
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching
ha, we feel you on the multiple stabs at one thing that ends up taking forever! and Groundhog Day is a Bill Murray classic!
Crazy how the simplest of things ends up taking all day! Another vote for Team Steve with Groundhog Day!
Build looking good guys , great to meet you both at the nec . Can’t wait for the next instalment….stay safe x
Thanks. Great to meet you too. Hope you had a good weekend 😊
Thank you for showing the brain fart moments as well. Working my van this weekend and felt so stupid because it wasn't going 100% all the time. This vid helped me like you wouldn't understand.
Keep going, nearly ready.
Honestly, we've had so many brain fart moments! The simplest things seem so hard! Hope you're making good progress....it'll be worth the hard work.
Hi, it's nice that you show everything and not just the best bits.
Also seeing the so-called bad bits helps others, help you, (I hope) as listed below.
As for hinges, you size the parts up with them closed (90 degrees) most hinges are designed to allow for the gap when opening.
If you cut into the top frame as you did on one cupboard, then the door is moved up also when open, hitting the roof.
To secure in thinner wood, use fatter, short screws designed for chipboard, these will give a good grip.
All the best
Thanks so much! Great advice 👍
Sorry. But 3 strips above & below controls looks weird. To put it mildly.
Your text isn't level on any of doors. But perhaps that doesn't bother you. Would me.
Each to their own, we suppose! I think the camera angle might make the text look off, looks alright in the flesh. Hoping to not spend too many hours staring at the cupboards 🤣
Any Bill Murray film is a good film
Another vote for Team Steve
I feel your cupboard pain. I had the same issues with those hinges... and then it clicked
Seems so simple once we realised! 🤣
Best episode so far 👌
Real life van build feelings 😂
Keep up the great work guys
So many feelings in this one 🤣🤣
Groundhog Day is my favourite film ever.
Team Steve!!!
if your putting ratton inside the door you need to soak it then atach wet so it stretches glad your back enjoy you both
Great tip, thank you
Forget the van build, we want to see the cake !!! 😅
🤣😋 Happy to bring some cake content in the future!
I think that's how CamperVibe did their door backs, with the hessian and staples, I think.
It'll be fine. What could POSSIBLY go wrong!? 😂😂😂😂
Time will tell if it's a good idea 💡
Rather then the black gaffer tape. Coat the edges of the sack in pva glue.
The full unedited silence made me chortle out loud.
🤣🤣
haha on me should of waited sacks not ratton . good choice
🤣🤣
morning, great film. I used to watch it on every overseas flight and now watch it every Feb 2nd.
Morning! You're definitely Team Steve on this one!
@@pitched_up_wanderers. I think I am on team Nessa. You are doing a great job and when you are done and out and about you will be able to say to yourselves , "Tidy"
its the mid of feb 2024 id have thought you would have finished this van by now as I was watching you last summer on this and you were off on your travels in it then and it looked nearly done
We had a 5 month break as Cheryl had 2 slipped discs in August and is just about recovered. We went away in the summer and it was probably half done by then. Nearly there now. Thanks for tuning back in 😊
happy travels once finished@@pitched_up_wanderers
Great film.
Cheryl is seriously outnumbered on this one 🤣🤣
