Now if it was both excaliburs at once against Ea, that might turn out differently...
This Gilgamesh is less of an arrogant dick than FSN Gilgamesh. Arthur's Master was going to die from an illness, and he was willing to give him the antidote no questions asked, as long as Arthur beat Gilgamesh. And even though he did (cleaving him in two in the process), it's impliesd he'd give up the antidote anyways. Also, while FSN Gilgamesh's battle strategy was spam Gate of Babylon until dead, it left him shitty at melee combat, which is why he lost to Shirou. Proto Gil does not have that weakness, and it shows as he's a very serious threat.

In the final moments when Shirou was up in the air, Gilgamesh summoned Ea, but hesitated to pull it out of the gate of babylon. That hesitation granted Shirou enough time to slash Gilgamesh's arm off when Gilgamesh finally decided to actually wield Ea against a "cockroach."
I'm pretty sure Gil from FSN was a big threat too, I mean he was the main antagonist at least twice I think. He only got beaten because he's an arrogant asshole who refuses to use his full power against those beneath him, which bites him in the ass.

Arthur's Excalibur is always stronger than Arturia's but it's very difficult to unlock the restraints. Normally Arthur can only unlock 6 of 13 restraints. That alone have power faaaaar surpasses Arturia's Excalibur
That's because Arthur only needs half of the seals unlocked to use the full power of Excalibur. In Arturia's case, each seal unlocked delivers additional power to Excalibur so only if all the seals are unlocked, can Arturia use full-powered Excalibur. Both Excaliburs have the same maximum output, only the requirements are different.

Ese tendón le impedía sostener a Excalibur con las dos manos, que es el requisito que necesitan todos los Saber para usar su Fantasma Noble. Balmung, Clarent Blood Arthur, Excalibur... además en Fate Stay Night (2006), Artoria fue capaz de usar Excalibur como una tres veces aun estando lastimada...

Al no poder usar ambas manos (por el tendón) no podía liberar el ataque. No tiene que ver con la lanza en sí misma sino con la imposibilidad de usar ambas manos.

Arthur’s Excalibur is canonically planetary level threat buster and obviously it’s hell of a lot more stronger than arturia’s. Just like Arthur is. Their respective performances against Gilgamesh are proof of that. Gil squishes arturia like a bug. Whereas with Arthur it’s actually an on par battle. Hell Arthur ultimately manages to win.

Iirc in one of the Fate Prototype novels, it's said that Arthur needs at least 6 or 7 seals to be released in order to, essentially, save the world. While Artoria doesn't have that caveat. Weirdly, in the Wiki, Excalibur is described to simply produce a cut which is destructive enough to tear through anything. The light beam is just residual heat produced by the tip of the sword when it's swinged, and it has no meaning. In other words, that giant ass light beam which probably make the mage association have a headache of how to cover it is just a light show for Saber to show off her shiny gold Excalibur!!!
FSN Excalibur can be used at full power against anyone as long as Altria has the mana for it. Fate/Prototype Excalibur has many restrictions on its and can only be used at full power in very specific circumstances.

Arthur’s Excalibur is canonically planetary level threat buster and obviously it’s hell of a lot more stronger than arturia’s. Just like Arthur is. Their respective performances against Gilgamesh are proof of that. Gil squishes arturia like a bug. Whereas with Arthur it’s actually an on par battle.
Hell Arthur ultimately manages to win.

It kind of is. The thing is that Proto Excalibur has some very specific conditions in order to be as OP as it is. Iirc in one of the Fate Prototype novels, it's said that Arthur needs at least 6 or 7 seals to be released in order to, essentially, save the world. While Artoria doesn't have that caveat. At least as far as I know

I'm sorry, but the way saber screams excalibur, I just can't take it seriously.
Weirdly, in the Wiki, Excalibur is described to simply produce a cut which is destructive enough to tear through anything. The light beam is just residual heat produced by the tip of the sword when it's swinged, and it has no meaning. In other words, that giant ass light beam which probably make the mage association have a headache of how to cover it is just a light show for Saber to show off her shiny gold Excalibur!!!

FSN Excalibur can be used at full power against anyone as long as Altria has the mana for it. Fate/Prototype Excalibur has many restrictions on its and can only be used at full power in very specific circumstances.
