I love using Turanian pieces as embellishment like that. On their own they're way too difficult to make look good. I like combining them with arena and khitan pieces as well as the 1st and 2nd tier structures.
I absolutely love the fence made of fence-and-pillar. That is a really interesting style I've not seen before, and I'm totally stealing that for my own builds! Maybe put candles or lanterns on the pillars at intervals.
While I hate Hlaalu in games (greedy bootlicks of Empire) and being more close to Redoran, I agree that their desert-like architecture has its charm. Great work here, could use (a little bit modified, so I can at least pretend that I still have some shred of my own creativity lol) it as HQ building for my settlement-like-base in future, so thank you.
Oh, I love this! I really enjoy the Dunmer styles of architecture. I've not played any of the Elder Scrolls single player games, but did play ESO for a while. Thanks for this.
@@DrB048 I've started Morrowind a few times, as I heard it is the first chronologically in the timeline. I think it is also the first ESO game, is this- are either of these two statements accurate? I've fond it hard to get into, not due to the story, but the outdated graphics and gameplay. I am not sure when it was made, but it is clunkier (to me) than the original Mass Effect or Dragon Age Origins, which are probably the oldest PC games I have played, excluding original EverQuest, which I played way back in the day. I will get through it eventually.
@@DrB048*"I don't consider ESO a real Elder Scrolls game.* I've seen a few people who are fans of the single player Elder Scrolls franchise make remarks like that. That being said, from an architecture standpoint, there are some glorious builds in that game that I think can be transferred over to building projects in Conan Exiles.
Elder scrolls started off with Arena and then Daggerfall. These two were very old games and I didn't really care for them. Morrowind came next which was when I started playing elder scrolls games. The Morrowind story was incredible, probably the best out of any elder scrolls game. The only bad part, which you listed, was gameplay mechanics. I am hoping one day they remaster it!
Love you did something with Morrowind! When that song comes on its like going back to those days playing Morrowind. Great build taught me quite a few tricks I never thought of
Iv been playing this game on zbox as soon as it was available. I love building, but often run out of ideas. It's awesome to see people such as yer self come up with new ones. Yer builds are pieces of art, thank you 🤘
I noice in all your build videos, you avoid foundation pieces as much as possible. Is it (A) for economy of building materials usage, (B)to reduce server loading issues or (C) a cosmetic decision that makes you avoid foundation blocks? Anyhow, I will be using your "foundation" style more in my future builds
It's a little of both. I also build that way because I use the pillar trick alot. This gives me the option of running my pillars into the ground, which if I used foundations, they would obstruct pillar placement.
Brilliant idea! This was so simple and very lovely, liked it. Would love to see some of the houses from the very first village you enter when you get off the boat at the very beginning of the game in ES:Morrowind (haven’t played it in a while, can’t remember the towns name sorry).
Do they make BP building pieces available for purchase later? If not, then there is no reason to use them because we can't replicate the build later. Also how do you switch pillars and floor on the go?
At the moment from what I've seen, they have no plans on releasing old BP items which is lame. But when it comes to these builds you can always substitute out a piece. As for switching between pieces, with the new update if your playing on PC, if you press in the mouse wheel it will copy the piece your looking at so you don't have to go back into the menu.
@@DrB048 oh, that an actual useful feature! Limited items from BP is sad. I've played games with a similar system and they quickly started feeling like a second job, so I quit.
how you get the items from the battlepass on the test live server? my battle pass page is disabled with a big fat red exclamation mark. And if you have that later bought, do you own this building pieces forever (like each dlc) or only for this dedicated character
I had access during a closed beta. When the update drops the items will will be available. They will also be account bound to your steam, Xbox, or Playstation account and will carry over from character to character.
How are you accessing the battle pass? I can see the tab in the testlive version but when I try to access it it just says something about not being available yet.
I have never understood why you don't use foundation pieces in your foundation. I can do the 'pillar trick' using foundation pieces, so what else would be the advantage of having a crawlspace under you buildings? Just curious. Love your builds. I am VERY put out that build pieces will be on the BP though as building is why I play and I did not want to have to buy into the BP. You'd think buying the game and DLC's is enough blood from me but apparently it's not. :( Okay I admit that went from question to rant. Sorry. Still have a lot of concerns about 3.0.
I do the pillar/ceiling combo because if I do foundations I can't run my pillars to the ground, the foundations will prevent me from doing so. Also from what I hear, foundation pieces can lag a server, so this also cuts back on placed foundations. Now when it comes to the battlepass/bazaar items, I am going to wait and see what things are priced as before I decide if I like ot or not. The one thing I don't like though is the timed items in a battlepass.
@@DrB048 *"... when it comes to the battlepass/bazaar items, I am going to wait and see what things are priced as before I decide if I like ot or not. The one thing I don't like though is the timed items in a battlepass."* I have to admit I am having a very similar trepidation over the battle pass. I keep hearing about how easy it will be to do the challenges, and such, but I have a feeling it is not going to be as easy as people are trying to make it sound. That kind of thing never is in games. I also agree about waiting to see if the themed items will be worth the price. My comparison will be if it costs the same, more, or less to buy all the offered pieces in one battle pass as it would for a DLC.
If you are looking for a functional aspect on this, it can provide areas for hidden storage. You'd have to pick up a ceiling tile or two, drop in your chests, then replace the tiles. No one but you is going to know they are there. Useful on an RP server where things such as picking locks is a thing. Bear in mind, how much room you will have will depend upon how tall your crawl space is. If it is a full block in height, you can have a single access point, then use the entire area as a storage area. If it is less than that, you can still have a secret hiding place for your most valuable treasures.
Something you can do is to pre-watch the video. Then, when ready to build, watch a couple steps (or even part of a step, depending upon your needs) start your build and work until the point where you have paused the video. Rinse and repeat until you are done. I have used this method to recreate a build I found on TH-cam.
