As a black man, it seems like when things go well, others get the credit. But when things go wrong, we're always the blame, that includes politics, raising kids, work, etc. Where's the love?

I probably pass by more transgendered people in a month than someone in Missouri does in a lifetime. I encounter more undocumented people each day than someone in Missouri might in a month. What someone does in Missouri does not affect my paycheck or my life. I would hope that the same would apply for those living in Missouri regarding events in California. When the Affordabie Care Act was passed, Black people were able to get insurance, too. When Biden passed an Infrastructure Bill, Black people traveled on the roads and bridges too; when he introduced student loan forgiveness, Black students benefitted from it too. Granted, in the past (pre-Civil Rights), whites were given preferential treatment by the government and still benefit from it, but to say/think one party doesn't do better for Blacks than the other is disingenuous (in my opinion). Democratic Party has not fulfilled all the promises it has made to Americans and to African-Americans. When the Affordabie Care Act was passed, Black people were able to get insurance, too. When Biden passed an Infrastructure Bill, Black people traveled on the roads and bridges too; when he introduced student loan forgiveness, Black students benefitted from it too. Granted, in the past (pre-Civil Rights), whites were given preferential treatment by the government and still benefit from it, but to say/think one party doesn't do better for Blacks than the other is disingenuous (in my opinion). Please, don't bother with insulting replies, I'm really trying to understand...to have a rational conversation.

So entertainers, in particular and including athletes, end up carrying an outsized portrayal in the zeitgeist. It’s powerful when Lebron does endorse progress, but if Lil’ Wayne doesn’t, America and the Obama-Harris led Democratic Party need to give Black men the same nuance they allow for nearly every other gender-race Demo. While Black men and women are denied this nuanced address, Black women are listened to and looked to lead, with the unfair mantle of “strength” and outsized responsibility, while Black men are reduced to entertainers, educated commentators on said entertainers, pariahs, or non-existent.
Democratic Party has not fulfilled all the promises it has made to Americans and to African-Americans. I will give them credit for always trying, from Social Security, Civil Rights Act, SNAP, Consumer Protection, Clean Water agenda, CHIP Acts, Obamacare, etc. These policies keep helping Americans. We are not there yet, but government and generations are continuum. We will continue to work out just as we continue to work on America and all the promises it has for its citizens. I will always vote Blue
