    I respect the fact that you believe in flushing things out and giving the body time to obsorb things in it's new state, apposed to afflicting unnecessary uncomfortable pain. Great job!

    I'd love to hear an example of how you communicate with the client about the specific work your doing on the trigger point, especially how you message to the client about changing their patterns and letting go of the tension. Thanks for these amazing and informative videos!

    Trigger point therapy can be taxing on the thumbs. I use my knuckles to apply pressure and relieve tension from a trigger point. I hold it for a min and let go. When a client comes in again the knots are usually gone.

    I have been doing this for 30 years
    and I love the way you do your technique...
    ... I have had some people think I'm too SLOW...
    when they don't realize that (especially) working
    on Body Builder it take Strength and Stamina to
    work the deep tissue of the muscle... and not harm the
    nerve ends...
    You are GREAT... and I love this video/tutorial ...

    Great video. she keeps doing the same thing on the same spot because she is doing a trigger point massage therapy. This is basically targeting painful irritated areas in the muscles in order to break the cycle of spasm and pain in a particular area of the body.

    If you ask 100 chiropractors they’ll give 50 different answers; 100 doctors 100 answers, 100 PTs 75 answers. If you ask licensed experienced massage therapists they all do this or a very slight variation thereof. I believe massage therapists are the only ones who know how to actually fix trigger points and in part that’s due to human touch releasing & healing. trauma

    This was incredibly educational 👍🏼, relaxing and dang it I wish I could find another you close by!!! I do have a question, not required to answer of course, I was “diagnosed” by a physical therapist probably 4-5 years ago with trigger points on both sides of my spine upper mid back. Well the question I have is I was told mine are long in shape or form and “calcified”. He explained them as being calcium deposits/calcifies muscle and the only way to “get rid” of them was over time applied pressure would break up these calcium deposits and then my body would naturally break up the rest. I’ve researched this beyond just YT videos and can’t find any info on “calcified trigger points” and how to break them up. I haven’t had any work done to them beyond what my at home tenz unit does since but the pain is far worse now and I feel like the areas are bigger or spread. Anyways wanted to see your perspective if possible and why no one mentions the calcium part of trigger points

    Before you flip them supine from prone, would you finish low back and lower body massage first? Or should pulling the arm and scapula movement be done immediately after releasing trigger point?

    After the tissue is warmed up (efflereuge) you are supposed to go to the second step and petrisage...seeking out, milking, kneading the individual muscles..

    Do u get sore thumbs hun. Id love to c vid on that on prevention/ mechanics etc and maybe a through the clothes massage prone on table i have a client who cant handle any oils moisturizers on skin as rashes turn to permanent mole type things and i just cant do it properly without any slip i had to send her elsewhere i just felt unconfident and incompetent doing it ooo and a chair massage . You and massage sloth are my ultimate teachers. Love you both . Big huge hugs for sharing your knowledge with us it is inspiring xxoo

      Her butters and grips are different from oils. Maybe they could work for your allergic client?

    Thank you for sharing! I love the refresher on targeting the trigger points but also remembering to give tender love and care and keeping both therapist and client of what’s going on; especially being a therapist myself. Thank you!! On another note:: Is there any way to learn how to release a twisted rib from the sternum to the back? (I have recently got an injury myself-slept wrong and old mattress🤦🏻‍♀️😑)

    Thanks for the video, Allison. How do you feel about using lighter modalities to effect change deeply? Energetic work, Swedish, etc, to bring down the nervous system and help the body release in that way?

      I believe that if you believe in something, then it will work for you. Meaning, that if a client is wary of deep tissue work and you have proven yourself to be proficient with energy work or lighter modalities, the connection between client and therapist can often be exactly what is needed. Every dysfunction has its own backstory that will dictate how it responds to different modalities. We are all different! Hope that answered your question...

    I appreicate the demo and explanaion, super helpful! But I can't use my thumbs or wrists for treating trigger points. Do you have a video using your elbows? Or can anyone recommend another technique treating trigger points?

    Once releasing a trigger point how long between sessions do you recommend before going back into the same area to see if they’re back and releasing them again? I’ve got a client with chronic back pain that we were able to get some released a few days ago and he pain went down to a 4/5 from a constant 7/8. However, it’s creeping back up. What is to optimal time between?

    I’ve listened to this particular sentence a few times just to make sure I got it right. Seems like you’re saying, that you’re warming up the connective tissue around the muscle “so that the connective tissue liquefies and I’m able to sink directly into the muscle”. This is the first time I’ve heard that connective tissue can liquefy?? Where can I read about it in more detail? Where did you get this info from pls? Also, even after numerous massage courses I’ve done, I’m still not closer to understanding of trigger points. When you say “knotted up” muscle, I always thought that “knot” was smth ordinary people use to describe painful bumps in their upper traps (I never encountered those in any other place - how come??), but what EXACTLY does it mean? Frustrates me, that I cannot find any proper medical explanation to this. If you have any pointers, pls share!!!
