I, too, have batoned my working knives forever, but I’m trying to learn some better hatchet skills, although I’m not sure why. Excellent video and terrific commentary!!
I don't know much about hatchets, but this actually looks like a really good one. I've used them on occasion when going outdoors but this looks like it came really sharp out of the box. Didn't look like you struggle with it either... looks light and comfortable.

Most of my gear is in short term storage right now, this included. This was a (sort of) gift, and I actually like the axe and don't own a whole lot of hatchets. Being as it's a Gransfors I'd like to keep it on hand for future videos as a comparison. The hate thing was kind of a joke- I like axes, I just like big knives more.

That woman and I were doing two different things. I held the long and tapped the top once. She was holding the log while chopping the top, and lifting the log off the stump. Hitting the back of an axe with a hammer or metal instrument will damage it though- but that's a huge difference.

No I do not have a website. and have only made about 10 knives. Once I have a few people test them to know heat treat and and fit and finish are up to my standards i will focus on trying to actually sell them.

Use hockey tape on the handle. It’s perfect, and super quick to replace after it gets destroyed after ten missed strikes in a row.
What’s the next size up from this hatchet? The “GFB Hunting Axe”?

Yep, Hults is cheaper- it's why I didn't buy a full size GB.
It really is a shame. The GB is more aesthetic. I remember it costing 60€ before it became a meme.
