This is the official score for this 5th quarter. 1st Round goes to SU due the great start of the 5th quarter overall with a bunch of runs brought by trumpets and the execution was perfect on Forbidden by Chris Brown. JSU on the other hand got a few deductions on Rocky especially with the trumpet solos and it’s very easy to spot. Also there is barely no effort put into this is the bandroom. SU 1-0 2nd Round goes to JSU due to SU being a lil SUSSY at the end of the song but overall, it’s a 8.5/10. JSU got no mistakes on the melody and it’s a decent arrangement. SU 1-1 JSU 3rd round is a tiebreaker because for SU, trumpets are heard and screaming clearly and I love it as well as the execution. And for JSU, that arrangement of Teach Me by Musiq Soulchild is interesting to say the least, and there is effort put on both songs in this round. SU 2-2 JSU For the 4th round, things took a turn by SU with the amazing masterpiece of Before You Walk Out Of My Life by Monica with perfect execution and articulation. As for JSU, the arrangement is there but if it weren’t for that mess-up at the intro to the song, y’all would’ve taken a score advantage. Because of the arrangement and the execution as well as dynamics y’all get a 0.75. SU 3-2.75 JSU Now the last round is the match point from SU because Idk what to say about the arrangement. But Jesus Christ that song arranged by Mr. Todd was badass and those runs as well as the tuba riffs and that ending blew me away. Perfect execution and arrangement. 🔥🔥 This was by far the best song SU played this year. JSU got a good response on this song but if it weren’t for that trumpet mess that hangover in 18:36 y’all would’ve tied with SU overall. SU 4-2.75 JSU Now for the tuba battle, this was actually close but the Stallions got this. See, SU asked JSU to play but they waited too long as they prepared for the seniors so SU had to leave. If JSU played those killer fanfares immediately after SU played, this would’ve been a cool battle and JSU could’ve won. Thus, in the end, SU wins the fifth and the tuba battle. P.S. Happy Feelings by JSU is a tribute to the seniors so it doesn’t count.
The Stallions sounded good bro but this was an L tonight and u know it lol. The reason u gave them the W has absolutely nothing to do with they’re fanfare presentations and playing skills but because of something out of anyones control. DT still got killer fanfares off compared to what SU played and that gives them the W. I can admit the Stallions are a solid ass section this year tho and prob top 3 with DT and Cookman

I love the boom always will, and I love their sound. They sound amazing, but song selection, song selection, SONG SELECTION. I liked teach me it just wasn't well executed like the first time it was played.
Song selection was the Boom’s biggest issue this season in my opinion. They overplayed certain tunes and didn’t play their best arrangements enough and when they should have. I agree about “Teachme” and will add that they simply waited too late to play it.

So, it is clear in an array of these comments many mistake loud as being powerful, which is their only focus... This particular footage is so clear in sound and picks up every note detail... Both bands delivered, however both bands had an array of flat and out of tune notes within instrumentation... However, bias overrides logic with many when these two marching band programs matchup... At this point in the season, both bands are exhausted and yet give their all.

In the video,, buddy said that the Chris Brown arrangement was bad and that it was in the wrong key. The arrangement was okay. I've heard better from the JukeBox....but I have to disagree with him saying that its in the wrong key. Its in fact, in the same key of the original record.

So, it is clear in an array of these comments many mistake loud as being powerful, which is their only focus... This particular footage is so clear in sound and picks up every note detail... Both bands delivered, however both bands had an array of flat and out of tune notes within instrumentation... However, bias overrides logic with many when these two marching band programs matchup... At this point in the season, both bands are exhausted and yet give their all.
